James and Sirius, for today an accountant and a dentist, respectively, put the finishing touches on the Haunted Mansion (they had started the night before, and upon finding that in the morning their changes were still there, they had been quite pleased and finished up). Now that the room where the ceiling rose was magicked so that everyone would fit in it and still have plenty of space to move. On top of that, they had magically rewired the loudspeakers to the room, put up some spooky decorations, and even completed it with fake, scary looking ghosts (they had both been quite disappointed in the morning to discover that some of their ruder decorations, including hot, naked ghosts, were removed).

Then, James began to write the letters, and started some music.

Despite his wizarding upbringing, Sirius had managed to figure out some aspects of muggle popular culture. He'd enjoyed muggle music in his time, and had even had a TV in his flat at one point. He'd only figured out you had to hook it up to get any programs on it a few months after buying it, but he did watch his share of television once he got that.

But his already limited muggle culture knowledge only went as far as 1981, and he'd only briefly heard of videogames. So obviously when an exploration of Tomorrowland led him to the Starcade, he was overtaken with curiosity. Most of the games seemed pretty complicated, and when he tried to play, he couldn't figure out how to work them. It made logical sense that it'd be voice or thought activated, but no such luck.

On the other hand, one game did seem pretty simple-- at least the colored arrows on the screen looked like they matched the pad on the ground, and the name of the game made it pretty clear what you were supposed to do.

That didn't mean that once he started to play that it was easy.

Cayce glared at her notes.

She'd gotten sloppy, she realized; she hadn't been keeping up with the new arrivals nearly as well as she should, and she hadn't updated the park census in forever. Which meant it was time to do this the easy way.

So a large sheet of paper went up on the park bulletin board.

Hi everyone.

As some of you know, I've been keeping track of the population of the park, just so that we know who's here and where we can find them. I need to update my records, so please put your name and where you live on this sheet.

Also, if there is anyone you know of who is missing you haven't seen in a while, mail me privately.

Thanks for your help,

Crowley awoke, not in his comfortable bed inside Club 33, but disoriented and hung over on a bench in front of the castle, an empty bottle of rum still clutched in one hand, mouth fuzzy, and head pounding.

"Ngk."

He brought up the other hand to guard his bleary, uncovered eyes from the glaring sun. It took him a moment to realize that there was a great deal more frilly sleeve around his wrist than there should be. After a perfectly still moment, Crowley ever so cautiously moved his hand down slightly to discover a mustache and double braided beard.

"Bugger."

It wasn't what he meant to say.

James was bored. James was bored, and he wanted to fly, and maybe have a game of Quidditch. He wished he had slept with his Nimbus 1000 [or even his Silver Arrow, though it wasn't quite as good], so then he would have brought it as well as his wand. Still, he had his wand, and he had read Quidditch Through The Ages enough times to practically memorize it and the basic theory that went into broom making (okay, maybe nothing other than the fact that it had a cushioning charm on it, but he could figure out the rest), so he could probably build a new one.

He knew though, that it would probably take more than just him and his extensive knowledge to build a broom. He knew (or thought he knew, at least) that Sirius liked Quidditch, and he remembered that the twins' brother, Charlie, though not yet Hogwarts age, showed great talent for the sport (or, at least for flying), and, though he didn't know Tonks (or so he thought), he did know she at least had the same magic as him.

He tried to think of the other people in the park, and found that he couldn't, so, he began writing his letters.

Letters to Fred, George, Tonks, and communication with Sirius )

EDIT: After sending off his letters, he laid out in the sun to wait for noontime to come. And then a couple of other young wizards swam into his mind. He sat up and cursed, wondering how he had forgotten that Kira and Setsuna had been Hogwarts students as well.

He quickly scribbled them a couple of letters, and sent them off.

One morning, a sign appears on the bulletin board.

All aboard!

Who wants to investigate the monorail?

Join me, Skaffen-Amtiskaw, at the monorail station in Tomorrowland
at midday tomorrow.

(Refer to the sundial in Fantasyland if you need help identifying "midday".)

It also sent a letter to Ax, in case the young Andalite missed the notice:

Aximili,

I plan to investigate the monorail tomorrow. Midday. Interested?

At the appointed time, the drone could be found several yards in front of the station, humming to itself and making a flower chain.

At first, James had thought that Lily was doubting herself again, which was ludacris because she'd done that and seemed perfectly happy with James. Still, he didn't want to think something else could have happened.

The first couple of days, he'd only gone to the ice cream shop for a couple of hours waiting for her, and had only written a couple of notes. Then, he didn't leave the shop for several days, living quite happily, if not unhealthily, on ice cream.

Finally, he consulted the map, which only gave him the bad news he had been hoping to avoid (hence why he hadn't checked it earlier). Still, there was the slight possibility that he and Sirius had made the map wrong, and that Lily really was somewhere in the park, just not showing up. After all, they didn't know the park quite as well as they did Hogwarts, it was possible there was a part of the park not on the map. Not likely, since James had spent quite a bit of time exploring the park, and he was sure that Sirius had done the same, but still possible.

He really didn't want to admit to himself that Lily might have suffered the same fate as Remus - whatever that was.

Padfoot,

I can't find Lily. I figured it'll be easier to find her if both of us go looking. You up for it?

Shortly after talking with Control, Chii made a post on the bulletin board:

Dear everyone in the park,

Chii has recently learned that people come from somewhere else before Disneyland. Chii learned a lot about a place callled Great Britain from Control-san, and now Chii wants to learn about other places. Also, Chii wants to know where everyone else came from. So please give Chii your name and where you lived?

Chii especially wants to know where Fay-mommy, Kuro-daddy and Sakura-sister came from. And Chii thanks you ahead of time.

Chii is from Disneyland. Chii lives here.

With the disappearance of Alice, Leon decided that he should finally start stepping up his investigation. There was only so much a detective could do on his own, and Leon was sure that he had finally hit the end of it.

So, he posted a notice on the board. Though the handwriting was somewhat chicken scratchy, he did his best to make it legible.

If you have any information concerning the disappearances that have occurred in the park, or if you know anything strange that has been going on (besides the obvious), please send a letter.

Detective Leon Orcot

Of course, with people like Miho and Logan in the park, he was sure that he was going to get more than his fair share of false leads. Still, he was confident that he'd be able to decide which ones were fake.

EDIT: Upon getting this letter Leon was kind of ticked off. He asked Aziraphale, then he sent identical letters to Crowley, Kira, Sirius and Rukia )

((Backdated to the day after the club opening. Will contain detailed descriptions of someone going through alcohol withdrawal.))

So she'd had too much. That was nothing new.

Okay, maybe it was this time. It wasn't exactly like she could be blamed for it. What normally kept her away from overdoing it was her duty as a soldier, her sense of purpose. It didn't exist now. Frak, she wasn't even sure what did. Let's just say she was getting worn down, and it was happening faster than usual. So she went to the club, and hadn't paid any attention to how much she drank. She kept herself together freakishly well that night; most people wouldn't have noticed that she had gone well beyond 'pretty damn drunk'.

She didn't remember how she'd gotten back. Maybe she'd crawled. Sador had given her a very reproving look when she'd come in, if dogs could do that. She told her to piss off, that it wasn't any of her business. Sador had not been impressed, so Starbuck fell asleep with two wise eyes fixed on her.

It was unusual for Alice not to come home at night, obviously. Aziraphale trusted almost everyone in this place, however foolishly, so he wasn't worried enough to look for her, but he certainly did fret when she didn't return the next morning. He went out and looked all over the park, focusing his powers to attempt to find where she'd gotten to, but to no avail. That evening, she didn't return home either, and he sent a letter to her in the post.

There had been no reply at the end of the next day, meaning she'd been missing and not come home for two days. He sent off a quick letter to a few of the friends she'd made in the park.

Katou had been loitering around New Orleans Square for the better part of an hour, trying to gather the courage to go bother Crowley for a bottle of booze. After all, Crowley did owe him. Katou had been playing at the club, so he deserved some sort of payment, and he especially wanted it after his fight with Setsuna and Kira.

He decided after about an hour that Crowley would be a last resort. If he couldn't get any from anyone else, then he'd bother him. He really did need that alcohol if he wanted to make his heroin last, after all.

Letter to Sirius and James )
[identity profile] grimsirius.livejournal.com
The magical charts they'd been generating for weeks now had always been showing some odd readings, but once they'd finally finished the calculations and put the spell on the map, it was even more obvious that there was some seriously strange magical activity at a certain point of New Orleans Square. The amount of latent magic radiating from this point was enormous, but the epicenter moved, indicating that either a person or an artifact had such a great amount of magic. Sirius wasn't sure this was possible, since his calculations indicated this would be the most powerful wizard Sirius had ever encountered, and yet there was barely any evidence of magical use in the area at all.

The epicenter appeared to frequently focus on something called the French Market. So Sirius head out to investigate, and found a small cafe in that point. He tapped the map and muttered a phrase that wiped the evidence of the magical readings from it, leaving an ordinary park map, and then opened the door.
[identity profile] anthony-crowley.livejournal.com
Eavesdropping from outside, Crowley had to admit that Aziraphale had done a pretty good job in speaking to all the club employees about their duties, though she'd known for a long time that the angel could be snarky when he wanted. After a while, the low throb of pulsing bass started and coloured lights were visible in flashes between the curtains.

When Kira finally opened the curtain, she smiled sweetly at him from her position as first in line. "Hello, darling. You'll let me in, of course..."
