Setsuna's going to go looking for Duzell-kitty, Sara, Kira & Pearl

After nearly a year of being there in that twisted Disneyland, Setsuna had grown far too accustomed to the sense of everyone's auras mixed together, to the point he didn't even realize he felt them. He couldn't tell anyone apart unless they were close by, though.

Still, everyone just seemed to meld in like a big space of warmth in a large cavern of nothing -- like a family huddled together from the cold. When several little flames went out all at once, Setsuna noticed, this time.

Just like that...there was something missing, and the worst feeling for the over-emotional teen was not knowing who those people might be.

At once he called out, "Hey, Little Rascal, where are you? Here kitty-kitty!" searching for their newest addition -- he still needed to introduce that little guy to Pearl, now that he thought of it. Maybe she would like cats. And once he had the kitten, he wanted to find Sara and hold her, very, very tightly. And Kira had to be found, too, and Pearl. And...there was a rather big list going on in the blond's head. Eventually, it became a string of letters.


Hey, Cayce....

How are you doing right now? Feeling all right? I was going to tell you about some of our new additions, but I noticed in your paper you covered them. I am reading your papers, by the way. I think they're great, even if Crowley's sarcasm in the first one was so superior. It's actually funny, if you don't take him seriously.

Oh! And Demyx is still around. He got back to me some time ago, and is apparently getting really messed up here. Not that I blame him. It's disorientating.

Hey, how are things going lately? You've been meeting any of the new people? Some of them are pretty interesting. Some of them are just plain odd. Oh well.

I just wanted to check up with you and see how you were doing. Make sure you were still here. Maybe we should get together at Fay's with Sara and Kira-senpai, and we can introduce you to Pearl. She's such an adorable delight.

Duzell had been taking a stroll outside, so he didn't hear Setsuna, but he did, however, receive Setsuna's letter.

Yes, I'm doing fine. Thanks for the meal. In about another month, if you're willing, you should be able to safely give blood again, so I should be able to hold out until then.

Haven't met too many new people since my arrival. I've been mostly keeping to myself. Did meet a young redheaded girl though. She seemed nice enough.

It's very hot here. I'm not quite used to this heat. As the kyawl comes from teh same place as me, maybe you can get him something nice and cool to drink next time you see him. Maybe one of those iced lemonades?

No problem. Just...a friend of mine kind of figured something was wrong and we talked a bit. He's considering a trade of sorts, if you're up to it. But we'll talk about it when the month comes up.

Well, at least you met someone. ...you almost sound anti-social, but I guess being a vampire you kind of have to be, huh?

You know...I didn't even think some people might not be used to it, because this is close to how it is back home in summer. But I will most certainly do that for the poor kitten. We've named him Little Rascal. Well...Sara named him some Hawaiian name that means that, and I can't remember it.

The kid was only too relieved when he felt something tugging at his pants. A smile of relief slipping across his lips, he leaned over to pick the kitten up, aiming to snuggle it closely as he murmured, "Why don't we go get you some fruit juice, huh? Some really good cold stuff. I'm sorry I didn't consider it'd be bad for you in this heat with that fur coat. We'll remedy that right away, I just want to find the others first. Okay?"

Duzell read the letter over Setsuna's shoulder, wondering exactly how he was going to reply while Setsuna was snuggling him like this. A trade? What exactly did he mean by 'a trade'?

He mewed and nodded, purring slightly, and wondering if he could sneak off for a few moments while Setsuna went to go find the others. Of course, he doubted that Setsuna would mind if the letter was a little delayed...

Crowley hated to disappoint someone's preconceived notions, so in order to piss Setsuna off as much as possible, he crumpled the letter and didn't reply. If the kid wanted him to be a prat, he'd be a prat.

After having panicked as he did, and as Setsuna had idiotically not looked outside of the room he was in for anyone else, the kid's eyes widened with relief at seeing Kira.

Not considering the poor other male had no idea what the hell Setsuna's problem was, the blond rushed him with a hug and squeezed tightly. "Senpai!"

Very tightly.

He even sniffed him, smelling a scent he could only call Kira. Something of leather, and cigarette smoke, and something musky but nice. Whatever it was, Setsuna had always found it comforting, so he breathed in heavily again, filling himself with it.

Kira was just fine. Kira was there. Kira wasn't gone.

In a cracked voice, small and full of shame, Setsuna whispered out, "People just vanished. Just like that. A bunch of them. I don't know how, or who they are. They're just gone."

Yes, I'm quite all right. I suppose I've been brooding keeping to myself quite a bit recently. Your summary of the recent arrivals sounds fairly typical, but I really ought to make more of an effort to meet people and welcome them. And hassle them about books and alcohol, as necessary.

I'd be delighted to get together sometime. Susan mentioned Pearl - have you been helping to look after her, then? I agree, having children around does make this place much more bearable. When they're happy it casts a bit of light on all of us.

From the writing, Setsuna gathered Fay was distraught. He wasn't too sure who Sakura was, but he thought Fay might have mentioned her at some time, and she might have been one of the children traveling with Fay and Kuragone. Even if she wasn't, clearly she was important to the mage for him to not take painstaking care with his hand-writing.

Worried for him, Setsuna didn't bother with further correspondence and left Tomorrowland immediately for New Orleans Square. He walked right in the Cat's Eye Café to call out, "Hey, Fay. You here?"
