[[If Pearl's still staying with them. And write a lot of letters. x___X Also, I know some people are on hiatus, so don't worry about responding until you have time. I'm not expecting immediate answers. And I am SO SORRY this caused the kid to flip out. x___X]]
After nearly a year of being there in that twisted Disneyland, Setsuna had grown far too accustomed to the sense of everyone's auras mixed together, to the point he didn't even realize he felt them. He couldn't tell anyone apart unless they were close by, though.
Still, everyone just seemed to meld in like a big space of warmth in a large cavern of nothing -- like a family huddled together from the cold. When several little flames went out all at once, Setsuna noticed, this time.
Just like that...there was something missing, and the worst feeling for the over-emotional teen was not knowing who those people might be.
At once he called out, "Hey, Little Rascal, where are you? Here kitty-kitty!" searching for their newest addition -- he still needed to introduce that little guy to Pearl, now that he thought of it. Maybe she would like cats. And once he had the kitten, he wanted to find Sara and hold her, very, very tightly. And Kira had to be found, too, and Pearl. And...there was a rather big list going on in the blond's head. Eventually, it became a string of letters.
Hey, Cayce....
How are you doing right now? Feeling all right? I was going to tell you about some of our new additions, but I noticed in your paper you covered them. I am reading your papers, by the way. I think they're great, even if Crowley's sarcasm in the first one was so superior. It's actually funny, if you don't take him seriously.
Oh! And Demyx is still around. He got back to me some time ago, and is apparently getting really messed up here. Not that I blame him. It's disorientating.
Just let me know how things are going.
- Setsuna
Hey, stingy alcohol prat,
You're still here? Right? I mean, what would this place BE without someone hogging all the booze. I can't imagine someone like you vanishing anyhow. Just let me know you're still here to piss us off.
- Setsuna
Duzell,
I wanted to know how you were doing. It only seems right to check up on you after the blood and make sure it was satiating for you. You meeting nice people, I hope? I've met some...well, jackasses, and some okay people, myself.
Drop me a line when you get a chance, okay? Take care.
- Setsuna
Hey, Fell, Aziraphale whichever,
You're still around and doing all right, right? And I was thinking maybe I could go look and see if you have any books on angels. Mainly, the angel Michael, and his brother, and stuff like that. The really in depth, detailed stuff. Let me know of a good time to stop by.
- Setsuna
Hey, Rukia,
You and Ichigo are still around, right? Doing well and all that? You better be.
- Setsuna
Hey, Raphael,
I know you and Michael just got here, so this would be really fucking stupid if it happened but...you are STILL HERE, right? I don't even know why I care since you two seem to upset Senpai with just your mere presence...but.... I don't know. You don't seem that bad.
- Setsuna
Fay!
You and Kurogane are still around, right? How are things going? Doing any business lately?
- Setsuna
Susan,
You doing okay? Any luck finding the brat? I mean...Calvin? Pearl seems to be doing well. She's a good kid, and a cook, on top of that. Quite a wonderful person to have around. I'll be sad to see her go, but I'm sure she'll be better off with you.
- Setsuna
John and Daniel,
I've still not even tried your moonshine. Shame on me. I'll give you a full report of the effects and complain to you about the taste in full when I do, though. In the meantime, you guys are still around, right?
...I have no idea why I'm writing a letter to you both....
-Setsuna
Hey, Leon,
So...I'll just ignore the stuff from the newspaper, for now. I think that's best, since I've got other worries on my mind. You're still around, at least, right? And...did you ever get any alcohol? I don't remember if I told you where you could get some from or not, I just remember it being obvious from your radio show you wanted to be shitfaced.
- Setsuna
Butterfly,
Hey, how are things going lately? You've been meeting any of the new people? Some of them are pretty interesting. Some of them are just plain odd. Oh well.
I just wanted to check up with you and see how you were doing.Make sure you were still here. Maybe we should get together at Fay's with Sara and Kira-senpai, and we can introduce you to Pearl. She's such an adorable delight.
We need more kids around here.
- Setsuna
He didn't write to Rae, Demyx or Adam, but that was because he planned to visit them as soon as possible.

Date: 2007-08-15 03:42 am (UTC)Aw, the kid was worried about him. Oh, well. Let him. The letter went into the waste bin to follow the first and Crowley went to open an excellent bottle of wine.

Date: 2007-08-15 03:49 am (UTC)When yet again nothing came, Setsuna just couldn't stop. He refused to believe the stubborn bastard was gone.
Yo, Crowley,
Unless you want me knocking on your door, you could respond. Please?
Oh please, to fucking God -- I'm begging God now? Shit! That's desperation -- respond.*- Setsuna
[[*Scratched out to the point of BARELY legible. Maybe readable if you try really hard and waste loads of time. Not worth it.]]

Date: 2007-08-15 03:55 am (UTC)He had to grin when he realized he didn't have to answer the door and the third letter joined the first two. Crowley enjoyed the documentation of Setsuna's increasing frustration. It was like getting little commendations.

Date: 2007-08-15 04:08 am (UTC)It was frustration, laced with an ache Setsuna didn't fully want to understand. He better preferred being pissed at everyone all the time. Oh well.

Date: 2007-08-15 04:19 am (UTC)But as enjoyable as this all was, Crowley didn't understand it. Nobody gave a fuck about him, and frankly there was no reason why they should. What, then, was Setsuna's game? Unable to figure out the kid's angle, he went back to his normal pursuits of drinking and reading and whatever else it was that bored demons did.

Date: 2007-08-15 04:31 am (UTC)He kept banging, though, eyes stinging after a while as his energy started to run out. Miserable, the kid slid down to the ground, half-heartedly hitting the door and berating himself. How could he just not visit Crowley once in a while? And forget all about him just because Katou wasn't there? He just thought Crowley wouldn't talk to him anyway, he tried to excuse himself.
The portion of the kid's mind beating him up didn't let that slide, though, so the next thing to hit the door was Setsuna's head.
"This sucks. Katou's not here to kick my ass this time," Setsuna muttered to the door.
He stopped banging and just stayed there, head against the door, letting the silence eat away at his conscience. Sometimes, that was the only way Setsuna's ego knew he had one.

Date: 2007-08-15 05:05 am (UTC)The only problem with the soundproofing was that Crowley didn't know when the kid had gone. Eventually he remembered that the boy had been there and, curious about what he was doing, the demon stepped out onto his balcony to look down at the sad figure slumped by the door. He sneered.
Silent and still, his black form blended into the shadows cast by the waning light. He wouldn't call it lurking, really, because that implied he was waiting for something, but he didn't call any attention to his presence high above, either.

Date: 2007-08-15 05:18 am (UTC)Again, Setsuna smacked his head on the door to see if it helped any, but really, it didn't abate any of the feelings he tormented himself with. In the end, Setsuna just leaned against it again and muttered, "A door isn't a Katou substitute either. Senpai'd be so annoyed with me now."
Even though he knew it, Setsuna still didn't feel like moving, so he just silently beat himself up for a bit longer.

Date: 2007-08-15 05:32 am (UTC)Puzzled by the random Katou reference - Crowley hadn't thought of his ex-"lover" in months - he made to go back inside as silently as he came out...

Date: 2007-08-15 05:37 am (UTC)He looked up to see nothing, but he knew that feeling. It was Crowley, definitely.
The blond ended up laughing and shouted out, "You bastard!" but he smiled. And when Setsuna finally rose from the ground to head off, relief surging through him, he whispered, "That's good enough for now."
