Setsuna's going to go looking for Duzell-kitty, Sara, Kira & Pearl

After nearly a year of being there in that twisted Disneyland, Setsuna had grown far too accustomed to the sense of everyone's auras mixed together, to the point he didn't even realize he felt them. He couldn't tell anyone apart unless they were close by, though.

Still, everyone just seemed to meld in like a big space of warmth in a large cavern of nothing -- like a family huddled together from the cold. When several little flames went out all at once, Setsuna noticed, this time.

Just like that...there was something missing, and the worst feeling for the over-emotional teen was not knowing who those people might be.

At once he called out, "Hey, Little Rascal, where are you? Here kitty-kitty!" searching for their newest addition -- he still needed to introduce that little guy to Pearl, now that he thought of it. Maybe she would like cats. And once he had the kitten, he wanted to find Sara and hold her, very, very tightly. And Kira had to be found, too, and Pearl. And...there was a rather big list going on in the blond's head. Eventually, it became a string of letters.


Hey, Cayce....

How are you doing right now? Feeling all right? I was going to tell you about some of our new additions, but I noticed in your paper you covered them. I am reading your papers, by the way. I think they're great, even if Crowley's sarcasm in the first one was so superior. It's actually funny, if you don't take him seriously.

Oh! And Demyx is still around. He got back to me some time ago, and is apparently getting really messed up here. Not that I blame him. It's disorientating.

Just let me know how things are going.

Hey, how are things going lately? You've been meeting any of the new people? Some of them are pretty interesting. Some of them are just plain odd. Oh well.

I just wanted to check up with you and see how you were doing. Make sure you were still here. Maybe we should get together at Fay's with Sara and Kira-senpai, and we can introduce you to Pearl. She's such an adorable delight.

We need more kids around here.

"Yeah, of course I do. I've waited here for you," Setsuna said softly as he went inside, following Fay and watching him with concern.

Cautiously, he asked, "How are you doing, Fay?" hoping the other wouldn't feel he had to lie too much. But if he did, Setsuna wouldn't take it personally; by now he knew that was just how Fay was.

Fay ran a hand through his hair and pulled a chair out for himself, flopping down into it. "I've been a lot better," he admitted with something approaching a half-hearted laugh. "I keep going out to search for Sakura-chan, and then promising myself I won't go again tomorrow, and then do. Pathetic, really," he added, rubbing his forehead.

"The wedding's still going ahead," the wizard said suddenly, reminding himself more than Setsuna. "We'd have liked Sakura-chan to be there, but..." he trailed off and shrugged.

"It's not pathetic," Setsuna countered at once, whole-heartedly. "When Alice disappeared...everyone told me it was pointless, but I insisted on searching everywhere for her. Same with Katou. I can understand where you're coming from, because it can't be easy. You've grown very close to Sakura. What did she look like? How old was she?" Setsuna asked those questions hoping it wouldn't hurt Fay to talk about her. And just in case...maybe, just maybe, if the missing people were ducks, they could come back.

"Glad to hear the wedding's still on. When are you guys planning to have it?" the younger blond asked, thinking maybe if Fay just concentrated on things that made him happy it might help a little.

"She's very pretty," Fay answered. "She has brown hair and green eyes and a wonderful smile. The kind of smile that can warm your heart. I don't know how old she is," he continued, "but I think she's a little younger than you. I don't know where she's gone," the mage burst out suddenly, putting his head in his hands. "I can't sense any magic from this place, and if it's not magic that's making them disappear, then what?" He shook his head, obviously frustrated.

Fay shrugged but did manage a small smile at the thought of his wedding and he looked at his engagement ring instead of Setsuna. "We don't know," he replied. "Some time soon, but we don't have an actual date planned. It'll be nice. It'll be wonderful Kuro-sama is so good to me."

Setsuna listened intently to Fay's description, though it wasn't too detailed. There were probably a lot of pretty young girls with green eyes, but if he saw one, she might answer to the name of Sakura. The description would help.

He didn't dare ask another question about her, though. Instead, Setsuna's features twisted a little in concern as he asked, "You can sense magic? How does that work? What's it like?"

As for the wedding.... "What are you guys waiting for, then? This place needs something to liven it up. Just have the wedding now," Setsuna suggested, an easy going smile slipping into place.

"Oh," Fay waved a hand, "it's nothing all that interesting. It's really only like being able to tell someone is watching you. But I can't feel any here, except for some inhabitants." He frowned. "Very frustrating."

The mage waved a hand. "People, mostly," he said, smile widening a little bit. "Apparently a wedding requires a lot of staff."

Fay's words didn't exactly settle Setsuna. He looked at Fay suspiciously for a moment, wondering just how those inhabitants felt to Fay. "There are a few magic users here. But...I don't think they've done much. And they aren't the ones behind everything odd happening here," Setsuna ended up saying.

"...yeah, it does. So what all do you need?" was asked towards the wedding commentary.

"I know," Fay sighed. "They're not strong enough. They'd leave a trace if they did anything - something I could sense. It's something in the park..."

The blonde looked around. "I have a list, somewhere, but it's rather long and I think some of the things on it are unnecessary... But the important ones are a ring-bearer, ushers, decorators, and caterers, though I suppose I could do that."

"That's strange. How could the park do this stuff without some form of magic, though?" asked Setsuna, puzzled the mere concept. How was any of it possible?

As for the wedding, Setsuna questioned, "Have you put up a bulletin board post? Because Rae can also make food for the catering. And I'm sure some people would like to decorate -- something to do with their boredom. And Senpai and I could be ushers. Or something like that."

"I don't know," Fay said, and thumped his head against the table. "There is the possibility it's too strong for me to pick up," he said after a pause. "It's cloaking itself, or something. That's worrying."

He looked up again as Setsuna spoke. "... I should do that," Fay said slowly. "And would you and Kira-kun be willing? I don't know if it has to be both of you, but I would be grateful... What will you want in payment?*

"Very worrying," Setsuna agreed, troubled. His eyes widened with more worry when Fay thumped his head and he reached out saying, "Why did you do that? It's not your fault." Setsuna could only see that thing as some sort of self-punishment. Well, there always was.... "Or are you some sort of masochist?"

When Fay asked questions regarding the wedding, though, Setsuna smiled softly. "I know I would be. I'm sure Kira wouldn't have any issue with it if I talk to him about it. And don't worry about payment. People do these sorts of things because they want to, and for fun. Not to get paid. Especially around here." Besides...what did anyone have to give that couldn't already be found?

Fay puts his hands in his hair, frowning deeply. "It's just frustrating," he said, and it was almost a growl. "My magic has to be good for something, and when I actually need it, it's useless." He sighed, and then realised that thumping his head did actually hurt, so he made a small, "Ow," noise and rubbed his forehead.

"Thank you," Fay said, returning the smile. "I'll tell Kuro-pon... Thank you, Setsuna-kun."

Setsuna braved putting a hand out, to lay it gently on Fay's shoulder in a gesture of comfort. "I can see why it be frustrating. Much like being trapped here is."

When Fay vocalized his pain, Setsuna frowned and told him, "See? That's why you shouldn't do that."

To the gratitude, Setsuna smiled and said, "No problem. I'll talk to Kira-senpai, and you can put up a bulletin to see about getting more people to help."

Fay's shoulders slumped and he leant his head towards Setsuna's hand a little. "I hope she's happy," he said quietly. "Sakura-chan deserves to be happy."

The mage wrinkled his nose and continued rubbing his forehead. "It was stupid of me," he admitted. "I guess I should just accept no one's going to let me hurt myself, huh?" he added wryly. "People are so stubborn..."

He nodded. "Yeah. I'll do that..."

"I hope she, and everyone else, is happy too," Setsuna agreed, smiling faintly as he thought of all of the people that had left so far. That's all that really mattered -- as long as they were happy. Were ducks able to feel happiness?

"Yeah, it was stupid," Setsuna again agreed, laughing a little. "So just don't do it again. If you do something stupid, leave it to someone else to hit you." That's what he did, at least. Usually. "And save it for when you actually mess up. 'Cause none of this is your fault." It really wasn't anyone's fault, no matter how rough it was."

"Sounds good to me," Setsuna agreed as he started to rise. "So I think I'll go for now, but keep in touch. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to write to me, okay?"
