Independence Day-ish

Once again, in the middle of the night, decorations begin to unfurl throughout the park. In minutes the place was awash in red, white, and blue bunting, balloons, streamers, banners, flags, flowers, and all the Independence Day trappings.

Patriotism is in the air at Disneyland.

"Prob'ly," laughed Adam. "But we could have a multi-cultural celebration, couldn't we? Jus' for fun? With a bonfire an' kimonos an' kites an' whatever all else people do in summer..."

Cayce's eyes lit up. "That," she said, "is a terrific idea. Of course, that does raise the question of where we'd get some of the trappings. There's only so much we can do with the Disney Princess stuff in the shops."

The boy grinned. "Oh, I expect you could find a lot of dif'rent stuff around if you wanted to. There's a whole Indian village by my house in Frontierland, f'r instance."

"That's true. And we might be able to do something with stuff from It's a Small World, if anyone can tolerate the song long enough to make it in there."

"Oh, I 'spect someone could for a quarter of an hour or so," Adam teased. "There's party stuff in the Winnie the Pooh ride, too, I think. It bein' Pooh's birthday an' all."

"Y'know, Adam," Cayce said with a laugh, "I think I've got a party to plan."
