Kadaj did not expect to open his eyes again. Or, if he did, he expected to see... another place. Not here. Wherever here was...

Another place. And a face, maybe. A face to match a voice...

Instead he sees sky. He sits up, making the sort of normal little "Mm," noise that comes with such an action, placing one hand to his head to steady the Planet. "Mother...?" he murmurs quietly, then scrambles up, getting to his feet and looking about wildly. "Mother!"

Mickey coughs theatrically. "'What is your name?'"

Kadaj is halfway towards reaching for his weapon by the time he finishes spinning around, but pauses when he sees that the figure addressing him is a short, smiling... thing. It's certainly not a monster or a summon, it's far too unthreatening for that. He straightens up from the defensive position he'd been getting into, looking at the creature curiously.

"My name," he repeats. "Kadaj. Is Mother here?" The added question sounds hopeful, young, and he seems almost childish all of a sudden. Not that he thinks she is, this obviously isn't the Lifestream, and she would have been here by now if she was here.

But I heard her voice...

"What is your quest?" asks the Cat. It's perched, suddenly, on the roof of one of the gate-stiles.

"To find Mother," he replies immediately. He turns to look at the cat, tilting his head in confusion at this one too. Strange creatures... is this some kind of an illusion? "My brothers and I, we are going to create a new Reunion! And the entire Planet will feel the repercussions."

"'What is the average w..?'" Mickey frowns down at the notebook. "You know, I don't really see why that's important." He flips a page. "'If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?'"

He looks down and smiles, hair falling into his face. "To find Mother, Yazoo and Loz," he says. "That's three."

"Or," the Cat says, examining its tail with interest, "if you were a genie and someone you were trying to give three wishes to was trying to trick you into giving him more, what would you say?"

Kadaj looks up again, frowning. "Why would I give him wishes?"

Mickey looks rather nonplused at the next, but reads, "'When the revolution comes, what skills will you be able to barter for food?'"

"I have Souba." Kadaj draws his katana, a sleek sword with two blades, lined up side by side. "I'm skilled. I can also fire a gun," from what practice he could get with Yazoo's Velvet Nightmare, not that he'd ever had permission to do so.

"But I don't need to barter or buy anything! I can steal anything I need." He smiles. It's what he's done all his life anyway.

The Cat rolls its eyes in a friendly (and rather disconcertingly out-of-sync) way, and asks, "Milk, dark, or white chocolate?"

He puts away Souba. "I don't care," he says. He's not really interested in the questions anymore: he's looking at the two creatures again instead, trying to figure out what they could be. They might be the reason he's still alive, if he is... but then, where on the Planet is he?

"'Choose the two coolest: robots, pirates, fairies, bears, ninjas, monkeys, vampires, or humans,'" says Mickey, giggling a bit as he goes through the list. "'Explain.'"

Kadaj definitely hadn't been listening to that question, or at the very least he didn't care. "Where am I?" he demanded instead of answering.

"Great!" Mickey flips through the blank pages of the notebook at top, cartoon-y speed. "Well, I think that's just about it! Oh, and I'm supposed to ask, 'for your safety: are you carrying anything sharp?'"

"Souba," he repeats, "and I'll use it if you don't tell me what's going on!"

((Kadaj, from Final Fantasy: Advent Children! He's a little off-balance from being alive when he didn't expect to be, and especially from not finding Jenova--his "Mother." Feel free to come by and poke at him. He's actually not often saner than this.))

"I c'n tell you what's goin' on, if you like," Adam offers, radiating friendly calm.

"Dunno 'bout should, really," Adam says, "but right now you're in Disneyland with a buncha other people who can't leave. We all live here. But it's not so bad. The weather's nice, there's lots to eat, an' most people are pretty friendly."

"No, it don't, I'm afraid. But I don't think it's a trap. Not really. An' if it is, there's lots of people who're just as mad as you 'bout it." Adam looks concernedly at Kadaj. "You okay?"

Adam shakes his head, smiling faintly. It's really rather difficult to lie to someone who's omnipotent. But the young man doesn't push. He never does. "All right. Well, if you do need anythin', my name's Adam an' you can find me. I'll be around."

"Prob'ly not," Adam admits. "Which 'Planet' are you talkin' 'bout? The real Disneyland's on Earth..." This doesn't quite explain if this is the real Disneyland, though, or if it's on Earth, or indeed if Adam knows of other planets. But he does seem to know a lot of things.

"Yup," grins Adam proprietorially. "Lotsa people here are. But not all of 'em. You're not, I'm guessin'."

"Welcome to death, kid." Axel's voice is wry, and he has to resist the temptation to pat the boy on his pretty silver head, seeing from those weird eyes that such an action would probably result in grevious bodily harm - for both parties.

"I don't know any Lifestream, but I don't think it's here." The tall redhead shrugs, pointing with a thumb out at the void. "You can see for yourself."

Oops. Axel's suddenly pleased he only tried to portal out.

He takes a couple of steps towards Kadaj's prone form. "Hey, kid - can you move?"

This time Axel doesn't hestitate before grabbing the kid by one thin arm and hauling him upright, keeping his grip in case the little cobra tries to attack again he keels over again.

"I didn't do anything." He explains, waving his free hand in dismissal. "It's this place. I don't think you can leave."

Axel loosens his grip and runs a hand through his hair. If he had such a thing, his heart would be filled with pity right now.

"If it helps, I think I'm meant to be dead too," He offers. "I'm pretty sure I'm dead, but there's a bunch of people here who think they're alive as well, so I dunno whether this is some weird afterlife or someone's idea of a joke or what..."

And the fact that he had just seen Demyx didn't help matters one bit.

"Like I said, your lifestream-thing isn't here, kid. Got it memorized?" He wants to ask how slow he could possibly be, but the shock-white face prevents him. He's being tactful. It's the end of the world.

From: [identity profile] nobodypyro8.livejournal.com
"Which planet?" he does say it out-loud now, albeit quietly. "Wow, you're slow...look, kid - ah, Kadaj, right? - I don't think this place is part of any planet. From what I've seen - yeah, it's not much; I haven't been here that long, but it seems like the whole place is just sort of floating in that," a thumb jerks at the void once more, "and we can't leave. At all. Not even portaling out. Believe me, I tried. Got it memorized?"

And made me look like a total loser in front of that blonde wannabe-heartless guy. Obviously, he doesn't voice this thought.

Axel sighs, scratches his neck. Way to go for not blurting stuff out. "Yeah, portaling. Portals, you know? Holes in space-time to other worlds than these. Only it doesn't work. There's some sort of barrier blocking it out. Like running into some sort of shield head-first. Not fun."

Axel pauses at Kadaj's comment. "You know, I never thought of it that way."

Then he shrugs, explaining, "Not that bad. Weird, but not bad. From what I've seen, anything you damage repairs itself immediately, and food just seems to show up from nowhere."

From: [identity profile] nobodypyro8.livejournal.com
"Yeah, it's pretty dumb. I tried setting fire to one of those stupid flower beds, and they didn't even burn long enough to look good." He, too, looks briefly lost, but since the feeling is exactly that, it doesn't last long. "I'm sure there's something that'll make a mess if you destroy it, though."

Despite himself, Axel can't help but smirk back. "If you want, I could help you with that -"

He pauses, and then starts half-guiltily. "Looks like the Mouse wants a word first, though."

"Okay, Kadaj," Mickey squeaks. "Are you ready to find out which of our excitin' lands you're gonna live in?"

Date: 2007-03-20 09:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mickey-mous.livejournal.com
"We've got eight neato lands that you could live in." Mickey ticks them off on his fingers and there are just enough fingers for lands.

"There's Adventureland for tough guys and gals, Tomorrowland for people of the future, Critter Country for critters and the people who love 'em, Toon Town (that's where I live), Fantasyland is a magical place, Main Street for normal folks, New Orleans Square which is a little spooky, and Frontierland for those folks who are on the edge and in between. If you could choose your home, where would you want to be?"

"I think that suits you fine," Mickey agrees. "All right. I'm puttin' you in Frontierland. Your mail will go to Kadaj (http://community.livejournal.com/dizzy_land/tag/kadaj). Welcome to the Happiest Place on Earth!"

((And if you'll put your contact info here (http://community.livejournal.com/dizzy_backstage/1307.html) you'll be all set to play. :D))
