Closed RP; Storytime at the Cat's Eye!

Ever since Chii’s arrival, a tradition had started in the Cat’s Eye Café.

This tradition began when day turned into night, and Fay put all the food that hadn’t been eaten that day into the fridge to keep for tomorrow, and called to Chii and Mokona it was time for bed. And when the two were ready, Fay would go upstairs and sit at the end of Chii’s bed as she sat there with the white creature and begin the story.

“Good?” he asked with a smile, which was another part of the tradition.

Kurogane mutters a "welcome" that is nonetheless loud enough for Chii to hear. (Chii is, strangely and--well, to be honest, frighteningly enough far more like raising a child than watching out for Syaoran and even Sakura had ever been.)

"Yeah," he says to Fay, still leaning against the door and loosening his grip around Fay's waist. If it had occurred to him, he'd be wondering when he'd gotten this used to casual touch.

"Tucked in?" Chii repeats, lips still in a lazy, happy curl, as she snuggles Mokona gleefully.

Fay kissed Kurogane's cheek again before pulling away. Those touches were so nice. They were like holding hands: without any real reason, just there to show how comfortable the two were together and that they were together. Fay liked them a lot.

"Tucked in," Fay said, going over to kneel next to his daughter and gently pushing her shoulder, trying to get her to lie down. With the other hand he picked up Chii's blankets.

Chii allowed herself to be laid down, and snuggled under the blankets, happily.

"Good-night, Fay-mommy. Good-night, Kuro-daddy. Good-night, Mokona," she told them in blissfull warmth.

"Night, kid," Kurogane says, disappearing out of the room. But he waits in the hall for Fay to join him, as he had done every time he finished tucking the girl and the manjuu in, ever since Chii had arrived.

"Goodnight, Chii," Fay said, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "Goodnight, Mokona," he said, doing the same to the white creature. "Sweet dreams."

He stroked Chii's hair away from her eyes and smiled at her, a fond, motherly smile. "You'll find your special person someday," he whispered. "I know it."

Then he stood, and went to join Kurogane in the hallway, automatically wrapping his arms around the other man and leaning up to kiss him.

"Goodnight, Fay-mommy!" Mokona said happily. "Goodnight, Chii! And goodnight to Kuro-daddy, too!" It snuggled yet a bit closer to Chii before yawning cutely and falling asleep. Just like all little Mokonas should at this time.
