Closed RP: Pestering Katou

Somebody might have found it strange to see Uriel walking around, looking dark and dangerous as ever, carrying a stuffed toy with him. Uriel, however, was not this somebody. Therefore, he did not even make any attempt to hide the toy.

He didn't care where he was going; rather he was just wandering around -- as usual. It was one of the few things worth doing at the park. At least when he was walking, he wasn't simply sulking somewhere far from everybody else; that he had got more than enough of during his time in Hades. Outside he might actually run into somebody.

And, as it so happened, he indeed ran into somebody.

Katou rather enjoyed walking around outside when he wasn't depressed and smoking like a chimney inside his house. Taking walks and going on rides, he found, took his mind off of drugs usually.

He saw Uriel before he saw the toy, so he held his hand above his head and went "Ur --" and then he saw the toy, quickly snapped his mouth shut, and attempted to hide behind a street lamp.

Unfortunately for Katou, however, the average streetlamp isn't wider than a teenager, no matter how skinny the said teenager may have been. Therefore, Uriel immediately noticed his adopted son despite the said son's best attempts at hiding.

"Katou!" he called out, happy to see his son, hurrying towards the boy. At the same time he remembered that they were yet to finish a certain conversation. Apparently today wouldn't be quite as boring as usually.

"Uri. Hi," Katou said, glancing at the stuffed lion and hoping desperately no one would see Katou with this guy. He supposed he could always try to tell them he didn't know who Uriel was, but... "How're you?"

Uriel would not have been very happy to discover Katou even considered telling people he did not know him. Then again, he would not have been very surprised, either. Uriel expected people to dislike him by default.

He did not, however, know what Katou was thinking, and thus he was just as happy as a moment before. "I'm quite well," he replied. "What about yourself?"

All the time he was holding the stuffed lion -- whom he had decided to call Fluffy-chan -- well visible, not noticing Katou's discomfort.

"I'm fine," Katou muttered, trying not to stare at the lion. "Uh... Is that for Doll?"

Uriel glanced down at the lion. "This? Oh, no. If Doll wants one, I believe she is quite capable of getting one all by herself." He almost-smiled. "Fluffy-chan's all mine."

"Oh," Katou said, feeling much more embarrassed than he had a few seconds ago. "Oh. That's nice. Well, I guess I'll see you around." Hopefully without Fluffy. He turned around and began heading towards... somewhere that didn't have grown men playing with stuffed toys.

Uriel set a hand on Katou's shoulder. "Not so fast," he said. "I still want to know just who you are seeing. And this time, I'm not letting you go before I get an answer." He meant it, just like he had meant it when he had told Fay he was going to get a stuffed "friend" too. Seeing that he was now holding Fluffy-chan, Katou didn't have much hope of fleeing.

Katou looked around, was quite pleased to see that no one was around, and then looked way, way up at Uriel. "Can we at least go inside someplace?" Katou pleaded.

"Why so?" asked Uriel, confused. "But of course, if that's what you want." After all, this was Katou. If Katou wanted them to go inside, Uriel had nothing against that.

Katou headed inside the nearest building (he would have brought Uriel to his place, but there was far too much of a chance that someone would have seen them) and sat down. "Just 'cause," he answered.

"Well, who is it?" asked Uriel. "I want to know. Don't even think about lying, either. I can tell if you do." Or so he let Katou believe.

Katou shrugged, and looked somewhere else. Uriel was clearly lying. "Psyche," he said, grinning. "I mean, she's married already and all, but when have I ever let that stop me?"

"I don't believe you," Uriel replies dryly. Even though he can't really sense it with any supernatural powers, he knows Katou is lying.

"Look, do make this easier for us both," he then says with a small smile. "You see..." Raising a hand to his throat, he switches off his speaking-device. 'Remember this?' he asks. 'I can talk into your mind. As my telepathy wouldn't be much good otherwise, I can also read your mind, should I choose to. However, I'd much prefer not to, so why don't you simply tell me?'

Katou paled a little. He didn't want no one in his head, father or not (actually, especially if they were his father). "Scrolly," he muttered.

Katou stared at Uriel, finally starting to think that maybe he was a little insane. Still, he did rather like Uriel, and he didn't want to upset him (especially not if upsetting him involved him blowing shit up again). "Okay, fine," Katou muttered. "I won't set it on fire." Like fuck he was going to call it 'Fluffy' though.

Uriel smiled, not brightly like Fay probably would have in a similar situation, just a little, relieved. 'Thank you,' he replied. 'And I'll try not to let people see him -- at least not people who happen to know you have any association with me.'

"Thank you," Katou said. "I don't really want to upset you or nothing, but I'd really rather not be humiliated."

'I'll try my best not to give you any reason for that,' Uriel replied. '...But I'm not giving up Fluffy-chan.' To prove his words true -- on both accounts -- he hid the stuffed animal under his coat. There it was secure and close to him, yet not in the sight of anybody else.

Katou laughed, watching him and looking rather amused. "You're a weird fellow," he said.

Uriel smiled. "So I've been told," he replied.

"Anyway," Katou said, and he stood up. "Now I kinda wanna set fire to something, so I guess I should go do that. You wanna come with?"

Uriel considered this for a moment. '...Actually, why not?' he then said. Fire -- rather unsurprisingly -- reminded him of Michael. And Michael had liked him, at least. 'As long as it isn't Fluffy-chan. Or anything that's alive.'

"Relax," Katou said, grinning and heading out of the building they were in. "I don't plan on hurting nothing. Got any gasoline?"

"I'm afraid not," Uriel replied after switching his device back on.

Then, he followed Katou, Fluffy-chan safe inside his coat.
