Mickey coughs theatrically. "'What is your name?'"
"Pegasus J. Crawford," the tall silver-haired man pauses, and preens a little, as if, really, people ought to start admiring him now. He smiles at the mouse, "next question?"
"What is your quest?" asks the Cat. It's perched, suddenly, on the roof of one of the gate-stiles.
Startled, Pegasus looks away from Mickey, glancing around aimlessly, until he finds the Cat up on the roof. He recovers his poise quickly. "Do I have to have one dear boy?" Stifling a yawn elegantly, "I did all that once, so tiresome."
"'What is the average w..?'" Mickey frowns down at the notebook. "You know, I don't really see why that's important." He flips a page. "'If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?'"
If he thought he could catch Pegasus so easily, Mickey was sadly mistaken, "that’s easy," he says in a cheerful tone, "a white wine spritzer, Kaiba Seto, and an idea for a new Toon Monster." He smiles smugly before adding "not necessarily in that order."
His gaze moves past Mickey and the Cat, fixing on the gate in the background; really, this place is perfectly delicious, a whole Toon World, right at his very fingertips. Now if only these two would stop talking, he could go in and explore. "Are there many more questions?" Pegasus murmurs, "I’d like..." He is interrupted as the Cat speaks.
"Or," the Cat says, examining its tail with interest, "if you were a genie and someone you were trying to
give three wishes to was trying to trick you into giving him more, what would you say?"
"How about What will you give me in exchange for that," Pegasus is getting bored now, and he speaks quickly, not trying as hard to amuse, "we might work out something mutually satisfactory, a quid pro quo of some kind..."
Mickey looks rather nonplused at the next, but reads, "'When the revolution comes, what skills will you be able to barter for food?'"
"Oh I’ll take over of course," Pegasus strains to see past Mickey’s shoulder, not that he’s seen any actual cartoon characters yet, but they have to be in there, don’t they? "I’ll subvert the revolution, and make them build me a castle and uniformed slaves can wait on me." He smiles as politely as he can, "is there anything more?"
The Cat rolls its eyes in a friendly (and rather disconcertingly out-of-sync) way, and asks, "Milk, dark, or white chocolate?"
"Dark," Pegasus’ tone is quite offhand by now, and he’s staring quite openly over Mickey Mouse’s shoulder, "it goes nicely with red wine." With a pained sigh, he waves his hand, trying to hurry the interrogation along.
"'Choose the two coolest: robots, pirates, fairies, bears, ninjas, monkeys, vampires, or humans,'" says Mickey, giggling a bit as he goes through the list. "'Explain.'"
"Bears," Pegasus says, "definitely bears," he isn’t even trying any more, just staring toward the gate, trying to see inside, "oh and pirates, and preferably together." His tone very positive, "I don’t know how many times," he says, "I’ve found myself longing to see a nice group of pirates together with some... What were those other things I said? Fairies, wasn’t it? Yes, they do go so nicely those two."
"Great!" Mickey flips through the blank pages of the notebook at top, cartoon-y speed. "Well, I think that's just about it! Oh, and I'm supposed to ask, 'for your safety: are you carrying anything sharp?'"
"Then I’m done?" Pegasus clasps his hands, "I can finally go in? How positively delightful, you don’t know how fun this is going to be for me," he turns to Mickey, putting out his hand with great enthusiasm, "thank you, dear boy, you have totally made my day." He’s already headed toward the gate when he looks back for a moment, adding "oh and by the way, no to your last question. I never carry my own weapons."

Date: 2006-11-21 10:28 pm (UTC)Whenever flirtations is one of the options, chances are that will be the one Pegasus chooses. He returns Fay's little half-smile with a very warm full one of his own, and "I'm glad to hear that," he says.
"And you actually like being here?" after all the other people who haven't, this surprises him, more so than the fact of Fay's flirting, "you don't want to leave as soon as possible and be reunited with the people you left behind?"

Fay nods. "Oh, yes. I get a bit lonely sometimes, but Crowley-san is just down the street and if he's being silly there's always Fish-san. That's my - well, I suppose it's a toy, really."
He sighs lightly and looks up at the sky. "I would like to see Sakura-chan and Syaoran-kun and Kuro-pipi and Mokona again," he says. Though seeing Ashura-ou again would be far less desirable. "But I don't know where they are or where I'd go, so I'll just wait here. And if they do arrive, I can introduce them to all my new friends!" The smile looks so true and happy.

Date: 2006-11-21 11:40 pm (UTC)"Oh, I'd be happy to come by," Pegasus says, "the Cat's Eye, you say?" As he speaks, he makes a mental note not to look for it by that name on the map, adding "how clever of Mickey to give the place to someone who would enjoy running a restaurant."
"And I do hope you get to see your friends again," he tells Fay, although by now he's not entirely sure whether his new acquaintance cares especially, "I hope you'll introduce me to them if they come here."

Date: 2006-11-22 08:29 pm (UTC)"The Cat's Eyes," Fay repeats, smiling quite happily. "I owned a cafe before called that. Mouse-sama just placed me in New Orleans Square," he explains. "But he did tell me what cafes were available, which was very nice of him."
He does look as if he couldn't care less, does Fay. He seems to be quite content with his current situation. "If they do, I'll be sure to!" he replies with a bright little grin.

Date: 2006-11-22 09:21 pm (UTC)Pegasus is beginning to find Fay just a wee smidge disturbing, and it takes him a moment to think of something to say. Are you even going to remember me, five minutes after I leave, works about the best, but finally he settles on "did you have a cafe then, where you came from?" as being a reasonably good alternative.
"You're a good resteraunteur, I'm sure of it," he says, "you're so friendly and charming."

Date: 2006-11-23 08:32 pm (UTC)"Once," Fay answers easily. He doesn't add anything about its location. Strictly speaking, he didn't own the Cat's Eyes 'where he came from', as he arrived here from Rekord, and is originally from Celes.
He smiles with just the right amount of shyness. "Sakura-chan was the real star," he says modestly. "Most of the customers were there to see her. She could make them feel better just by smiling."
Sakura's smile can make anyone feel better. Fay's so proud of her.

Date: 2006-11-23 11:52 pm (UTC)The odds are Fay doesn't regret having left Sakura-chan either, and why he should manage to look so adorable, while being so untouched by human feeling is beyond Pegasus' understanding. Not that he'd normally worry about anything so very close to introspection, but he's been talking to the boy for a while, and he's starting to wonder a little.
"You're pretty good at that yourself," he says, "if your friend Sakura-chan was better, she must have been a miracle worker."

"Thank you," he says softly. "And she is. I mean, was. She's Sakura-chan," he says in the end. "I hope she gets here," he adds, and how much he really misses his friends shows on his face before he replaces the expression with a bright smile.
"Are you alone too, Pegasus? We can keep each other company!" He throws his arms wide. "Visit me at the cafe!" he commands with a playful grin.

Date: 2006-11-26 04:49 pm (UTC)"As a matter of fact," he says, "I am alone. ...Not but what I'm used to it," although his own tendency to make the most of his troubles means he does not sound at all used to it, "that's sort of why I was willing to come here you see. I didn't have anyone to say good-bye to in my world."
