The loading area and deck in front of It's a Small World had been transformed. Two large tables had been set up, one bearing the music equipment that Cayce had lugged over from Tomorrowland, the other marked out for food and drink. Another food table was set up at the shop.

Various other places in the vicinity had been marked out as well: a wide space for a dance floor; another wide space with a sign RESERVED FOR STARBUCK posted; a grassy area marked RESERVED FOR M. BEAUFORT; and the loading area was marked RESERVED FOR KIRA AND SETSUNA. Over the walk up to the ride, Cayce had hung a large hand-lettered banner that read:

IT'S A SMALL UNIVERSE (ALL OF THEM)

She'd raided every shop in the park for decorations, and pillars and eaves were festooned with Disneyfied representations of various cultures; there was some Mulan merchandise here, a few items ganked from the Indiana Jones Adventure there. Cayce herself felt, somewhat ruefully, that she wasn't capable of being much more than a representation of early 21st-century urban America, so she wore the dress Crowley had given her. Anyone who was expecting her to do a reprise of the bikini business would be sadly disappointed.

After Cayce felt that a critical mass of crowd had been achieved, she went to the music system and turned on the microphone.

"Hi there, everyone. It's good to see you here, and thanks for playing along with my silly party idea. It's kind of a squishy liberal American thing to say—see, I'm representing my culture now—but can I just say that it's great to see the diversity here, and to see everyone taking pride in where they come from. So, thanks. Especially to Psyche, for letting us tromp all over her home and for keeping the music under control; to Crowley as always for the booze; and to everyone who brought something to share." She started to put the mic down, then remembered: "Oh, and thank you to Kira and Setsuna, who will be starting a limbo contest shortly." She grinned. "So if you think you're up for it, see how low you can go." A self-deprecating laugh at the cheesiness of what she'd just said. "Thanks again for coming, and have fun."

((Party time! Talk amongst yourselves, hassle Cayce, get drunk and ride through It's a Small World (not recommended), and otherwise have fun. Feel free to set your post before or after Cayce's little speech.))

((ETA: Here's the limbo thread!))

"Don't mind if I do," Una said, accepting the beer. A smirk was trying its level best to get out, and she was having to concentrate to keep it under control. "Sorry about the cigarette. I'll just stand a short distance away, shall I?"

"See that you do," Franziska replied. "Have you ever been to Germany, Una Persson?"

Una stepped to the side, as near as downwind from Franziska as she could manage.

"Many times," she said. And many different time-streams. "And the surrounding countries as well. Do you know the city of Mirenburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brothel_in_Rosenstrasse), Fräulein von Karma?"

She would frankly be surprised if Franziska did, but one never knew, the multiverse being what it was.

"Certainly I do," Franziska lied, annoyed. "But I'm not interested in discussing it. Would you prefer to hear about the history of Germany, the culture of Germany, or the history of the von Karma family?"

"Oh, family history, by all means," Una said. "I'm already fairly familiar with German history and culture, but not with the story of your illustrious family."

It probably wasn't fair to use this much irony on someone who didn't seem to get it, but it was also irresistible.

((How far into Phoenix Wright are you? Franziska's family history would contain spoilers for the end of Ace Attorney. Kind of obvious spoilers, but still major spoilers))

((I've just started the third episode in the first game, the Samurai thing. I don't mind a spoiler or two, though; I've already gotten some for the Pearl Fey story, for instance.))

"An excellent choice, Una Persson," Franziska said. "The von Karma family history is among the most interesting in the world. The first known records of the von Karmas date back to Roman times, as leaders of the invasion into a Rome that had fallen under soft-willed rulers. Since that date, von Karmas have been heavily involved in Germanic history, generally taking leading legal positions within the government. Some notable historical von Karmas include," she began to flip through their portraits as she spoke, "Guntram von Karma, conquerer and first European Prosecutor appointed under Charlemagne; Friedrich 'Fritzi' von Karma, High Inquisitioner for the Holy Roman Empire, Markgräfin Olga von Karma, five time invader of Poland, and Ingolf von Karma, famously remembered for his role as "The Bloody Prosecutor" during the Franco-Prussian war.

She flipped the portraits again, this time displaying presentations that included portraits, legal documents, photographs, and medals. "In more recent history, of course, were my grandfather, Hildebrand von Karma, who managed to retain a perfect prosecution record despite his dual role as first world war General. His illustrious career was tragically cut short after he was prosecuted and executed for high treason at the age of 90 by another promising young prosecutor," she flipped the projection again, "My grandfather, Olaf von Karma. Among his impressive record is a brief twelve year political career, followed by his and my great aunt Kriemhild von Karma's arrests and imprisonments for war crimes. And of course, their prosecutions were handled by none other than," she flipped again to a terrifying looking man (http://www.zentendo.com/images/screenshots/614.jpg), and smiled proudly, "my father, Manfred von Karma. He held for his seventy years of prosecuting a record without even a single strike against him, including his own eventual self prosecution for two counts of first degree homicide and seven hundred counts of willful tasering.

Now, she flipped to a picture of Edgeworth. "Here is Miles Edgeworth, who is not officially a von Karma, but he is a somewhat competent prosecutor educated in the von Karma style, and something of a little brother to me. And I," she added, changing to a picture of herself, "Franziska von Karma, a prodigy who became a prosecutor at thirteen and who currently holds a record so perfect as to even shame my dear, incarcerated papa. Any questions?"

By the time Franziska had finished her recitation, Una's beer was long gone and it was only through the dint of many, many years' practice that she was able to keep a glazed look out of her eyes.

And, well, the whole thing was admittedly fascinating in a bizarre sort of way, if for no other reason than that Una had never met anyone with such an extraordinary sense of inflated self-worth. Which sense appeared to be a family trait.

"That's quite the lineage you have, Fräulein von Karma," she said, and if she didn't quite sound impressed, it could have easily been attributed to being overwhelmed. "You know, I've heard of people representing themselves in court, but I do believe that's the first time I've ever heard of someone who prosecuted themselves. That must have been ... interesting."

"What, you think my papa would have been a defense attorney?" She said those words with evident disgust. "No, there could have been no other prosecutor worthy of the honour of prosecuting my papa, considering I was out of the country and Miles Edgeworth was...indisposed. He's never quite had the iron will papa and I have. But yes, he did an excellent job. The judge sentenced him to death in record time."

"...Your father sounds like a remarkable man," was just about the only response Una could summon up.
