It had been an unnatural day. Not only long, but trying in every sense of the word. Marguerite managed to find an empty bench and thought it as good as any for a little rest. She had no place of her own to go to, and no doubt in her mind Percy would turn her away. After moving about to get comfortable she finally managed to lay her head on her puff of skirts. The un-abiding light, however, seemed to make dozing off for a short while an unbelievably difficult task to do. Finally able to set her fan up enough to block some light, she found herself dozing off.

"It's rather nice, I must confess." He resolved then and there to go and find her some in the park, which wouldn't be too difficult.

"I think she's done all sorts of different professions in different times. Una, you may have met her, I'm not sure." Beaufort had been quite impressed with Una on first impressions, and she'd been relatively nice to him. Most people had, even with the odd 'cheese eating surrender monkey' comment.

"I presume she came to meet you when you got here, then?" Everyone seemed to know Una, it was sort of remarkable. "I'd recommend some people I've met from your time or from the 19th Century, but unfortunately, I would think they'd be about as much use as I have been."

"Well, there's your husband, of course, John Adams, who I only found out about recently, a gentleman called Kit, who's a little strange but from somewhere in the 1800s and then...I think I'm the next person in what must be a bizarre timeline." Which was a little scary, when he thought about it. There was only one person between him and the French revolution in the strange order that had just formed in his head. "And you're most welcome, I couldn't have just left you there. It'd have been most impolite and it was the least I could do for a lady like yourself."

He smiled genuinely, and with much less fluster than before when she took his hand, "Really, there is no need to thank me. Again, it was the least I could do for a fellow citizen as beautiful as you." He might as well go for as much broke as a sense of propriety allowed.

"Please, stop thanking me, it's not needed." He smiled, though, as she really didn't stop thanking him or blushing. Could only be a good sign.

"Anyway, I'll let you get settled in or whatever. If you want anything at all, just write to me. Or find me...or anything." He gave her a slight nod of the head and moved towards the door.

((Unfortunately, this film is lacking in them. I'll have to search my screen caps.))

"Most welcome. I live just up there, anytime..." He offered his hand politely before leaving, as a formality more than anything.
