After a weekend in ToonTown, Sylar had pretty much had enough of his lovely 'assigned' home. The 24/7 music was just the start of his personal nightmare. The primary colors didn't help either. And it was so cheerful he was tempted to go adolescent and enter a Goth phase.

Which was why he was scouting out locations for another home base. (And possibly one or two places to conceal himself.)

Hey! New person, Setsuna's mind spoke up as soon as he saw the man wandering about. He had been out taking a daily walk-run, and slowed down to smile and wave.

"Hello~! Haven't seen you around before. Are you looking for something?" the kid asked, as it was the most logical option; even Setsuna's idiotic brain could figure that much out. Why he had to ask the obvious instead of what was being sought was another issue altogether.

"Zane," Setsuna repeated. "Short, and a little weird. I should be able to remember." Hopefully. Naturally, he gave his name in return. "Mine's Setsuna."

As for the place to stay, Setsuna mused over it, considered being a brat, then decided he shouldn't to someone he barely met and hadn't earned it. Yet.

"Well, what kind of place are you looking for? There's tons of places here. And since the weather's always good, you can even just sleep outside at night with no worries."

"The clocks...." Setsuna snickered a little at that. "I think that's pointless." He might not have thought so when he first arrived, but by now, he felt trying to keep track of time was a waste of it.

"And yeah, the weather never turns bad. You're safe there." A beat. "As for good food, most people have set up places in New Orleans Square, but there's some good stuff on Main Street. And there is a girl living in the castle now. Shizuka, I believe. At least," he gave that thought for a moment, "she had asked about it. It's a castle though. Maybe she wouldn't mind a roommate."

"Oh yeah. Plenty of food," Setsuna informed, getting into the conversation. And, hmm, this Zane guy liked privacy, it seemed.

"I'm not sure where there's an ample supply of clocks, but there's a toy shop in Fantasyland with lots of toys. Some of them might be mechanical if you want more gears to mess around with."

As for what Setusna did all day.... "Well, I looked for a way out, at first. Still do from time to time. Lately, it's watch movies and have sex." As soon as the s-word was out of his mouth Setsuna slapped his hands over it, stunned and blushing. He hadn't actually meant to say that. He had been thinking more along the lines of, "Talk to my friends," but it was too late.

Eventually, he managed to mutter, "This isn't helping you find a place," face still bright red, and hands muffling his voice.

"Sixteen," Setsuna answered, then tried again to divert the topic, still blushing. "Really. What kind of place are you most interested in? The place with the food? I think there's still some places available there." Maybe.... They'd have to go look. There were probably more places in Fantasyland, but Setsuna didn't know "Zane" was considering that land.

Simple-minded as he could be, Setsuna mistook the intentions as being purely understanding, or simply uninterested, and gratefully left the topic of his sex life, knowing Sara might kill him for his big mouth.

Back to food! "What kind of food do you like? They've got mainly ice cream, pastries, sandwiches and hot dog type stuff down this way," said Setsuna, playing information desk yet again. He would know about the food....

As for the other question, Setsuna shook his head. "Nope. This place is pretty damn confusing."

"Well, we can get both," Setsuna said with a happy, ignorant shrug.

Una...the name sounded familiar, but Setsuna had never had much contact with her. As for guesses.... "A lot of people have guesses and theories. And a couple of people believe they can narrow down that we have a God, or something like that. But nothing's been proven yet. Fuck how it works. I'd rather just go home."

Setsuna snorted. "Yeah, food's free. No worries."

As for the painting supplies, Setsuna didn't pay attention to those sorts of things, so he had to think about it for a while. "Nope. Don't think so. There might be spray cans in the back of some of the theatre places, though."

"Side walk chalk.... You that bored?" Setsuna asked, suddenly getting curious. "They might have some in the toy stores. Those kinds of places have lots of things."

Setsuna was easily oblivious, but something about Sylar's smile in that moment bothered him, though he couldn't say just why. "Future...right.... You play hopscotch when you're bored?"

From: [identity profile] swordandchalice.livejournal.com
"That's a commercial?" Sesuna asked, blinking a little. At least he guessed Sylar-Zane didn't play Hopscotch after all.

"And I'm from Japan. You? If you're from Earth...."

"Yep~!" Setsuna answered easily. "New York City... Never been there. What's it like? Is it really how it looks in all the movies and stuff?"

As for the fictional stuff, Setsuna wasn't positive, but he already thought himself fictional and accepted it readily.

Pippi and Mr. Neilson were running around at top speed because...

Well, no reason really.

They were both too agile to bump into a totally unsuspecting person, but the sudden flurry of girl and monkey scampering around and under-foot might cause a person to loose balance.

Pippi stopped and bobbed a curtsy to him.

"Hullo Mr Tay-Lord."

Pippi isn't the sort of person to consider possibly suspicious behavior until it moved out of the realm of suspicious and down the street to the Kingdom of the Blatantly Obvious. It stemmed as much from her extreme optimistic view of mankind as from her not entirely unjustified confidence in herself.

Mr. Neilson just liked people who liked monkeys and were therefore likely to feed him.

"Hmmm, well, I got lessons with Susan some days. She's teachin' me about readin' and plutterfication and stuff. Mr. Neilson seems to like to play Hide and Seek... Or possibly he's just a naughty monkey who likes to wonder off."

Mr. Neilson has the good grace to look abashed.

"Today I'm Thing Finding." Pippi explained. "And yourself?"

"Ooooh, can I play too?" Pippi asked, perking up a bit. (Just when you thought she couldn't be perkier.)

"Susan is the nice lady who looks after all the children. She's kinda like Miss Prissylissy back home... Only she's smart. She teaches us stuff.

And oh yes, he certainly does. Mr. Neilson knows a good thing when he finds it. Besides, I raised him from a little baby monkey. I'm kinda his monkey mommy."

Pippi started to think about places that would fit the bill.

"One could hardly be expected to cram so much learning into one's head every day and not expect it to start falling out... No, you need time to digest learning, like food. I lean stuff from Susan a couple of days in a row every couple of days." Pippi explained. "Oooh yes! We're quite fond of popcorn, Mr. Neilson and I. We hardly ever had it before we came here."

Mr. Neilson jumped and caught the popcorn, doing a little flip in the process. He scampered up a street light and hung from his tail munching.

"Well I grew up sailing the world with my Papa." Pippi explained. "But my family is from Sweden and I been living in my Papa's house Villa Villacola. Where are you from?"

"It's a skill I myself have recently acquired."

Though, probably not in the same way that Sylar acquires his skills.
