Virgil sat on one of the pillows they'd dragged into the gas station, watching Richie put the finishing touches on his invention with an odd feeling in his stomach. It wasn't just the built up electricity, although he hadn't used his powers in days at Richie's advice, and he could feel it crackling in his fingertips and body, itching to get out.
He was nervous. He didn't understand...whatever the hell kind of quantum science Richie was using, but the machine looked impressive enough. But would it get him home? To the right time or the right world? Okay, technically his worry over his family worrying or leaving the city unprotected should have been enough incentive, but he really wanted to make his date with Daisy.
"I can't tell what you're doing, bro," he said. "Are you almost done?"
