Virgil and Katou's Hot Date (Semi-Closed RP, Backdated to right after Katou gets settled)

Since Katou had friends in the park Virgil was sure he'd want to hang with, he waited a few days to let Katou get settled in before he decided to make good on his promise of a date. But he didn't have much going on himself, so a couple nights later he prepared to go meet Katou. He first went for the civilian clothes, but decided instead to go for his jeans as well as a white button-down over his Static t-shirt and the worst tie he could find. Then, he collected a bouquet of flowers and knocked on the door of the auditorium.

Katou laughed from the ground, and reached up and took Virgil's hand. He tentatively moved his foot to make sure he could, before he stood up. "Krypton would be an... interesting place to live," he said. "A very interesting place. You'd never know who was looking through your clothes." He paused. "Though, you know, I wouldn't mind having X-Ray vision myself."

"...Thanks," he said, grimacing. "I'll never be able to look at Superman that same way again."

Katou laughed. "You should be flattered that he's so interested in what's under those clothes of yours."

"What's that?" Virgil asked. "You want to see if I can Static Cling you to the ceiling? No prob!"

"Hey!" Katou said, pouting a little. "I didn't say that at all! Quit putting words in my mouth."

"Really? I could've swore that's what you'd--" Just then, the oven timer went off. "Cool, pizza's done," Virgil said, opening the oven with a burst of electricity.

"Saved by the bell," Katou said, wiping the imaginary sweat from his brow. "Want me to get us some drinks?"

"Sure," said Virgil. "I'll grab a table." He put the pizza on one of the round pizza trays and leviatated it (it was still hot) to one of the tables looking out on the Space Mountain line.

Katou went to one of the pop machines and realized that he had forgotten to ask what Virgil wanted. He got him some Coke, and gave himself some rootbeer, and carried it towards where he saw Virgil headed. "I got you a Coke," he said, putting the cup down in front of Virgil.

"Thanks," Virgil said, taking a sip. He didn't have any particular preferences when it came to soda, and Coke was just fine with him. "Pizza's still hot," he said, gesturing to the pizza on the table. "Should be good in just a minute."

"Oh, what troubles flesh give people," Katou said, taking a piece of pizza with his mechanical arm.

Of course, he still had nerves in his mouth. He winced, but managed to swallow the bite he took anyway. How uncool would it be if after that statement, he showed that he burned himself on the pizza? He waited a couple of moments, and then took a big gulp from his rootbeer.

Virgil had been already wondering about whether the no-flesh rule would prevent the pizza being too hot to bite, so he caught the wince and laughed. "Good one, dude."

Katou glared at Virgil. "Quiet you. It's not that hot." It might be noted that he didn't take another bite from his piece of pizza for the time being.

Virgil just continued to laugh; Katou's glare only made it funnier.

"I said be quiet!" Katou said. If this kept up, Katou would have no choice but to throw his pop at Virgil.

Virgil grinned, and grabbed a piece of pizza on his own. "I think my poor flesh might be able to handle it now," he said, taking a bite. It was still pretty hot, but it didn't burn at least.

"I think my poor flesh..." said Katou in a mocking sort of tone. He blew on his pizza to be safe, and then took another bite of it. The roof of his mouth was raw now, but he didn't have too much trouble eating it.

He took a sip of coke and didn't say anything, but the way the corners of his lips crinkled said everything.

"Yeah, you smirk away," said Katou, finishing off his pizza.

He frowned, turned his face into Virgil's, and proceeded to make completely idiotic faces.

Virgil, never one to be defeated in a debate, pulled a face right back, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue.

Katou laughed, and changed his face back to his own. "You're really weird," he said, not unkindly.

"Awww, I'm flattered," he said, faking a swoon. "Are we at the meaningful conversation part of the date already? And I haven't even finished my pizza."

"Okay, okay," Katou said. "My confession of undying amusement can wait until we're finished eating. I'm not really all that caught up with my date etiquette, I must say."

"Heh, don't worry. You're a pretty cheap date anyway." He took another bite of pizza, finishing it off, and then followed with another slurp of soda. "So what've you been up to since you got here? Been on any rides yet?"

Katou laughed. "Don't I know it," Katou said. "I've never not gone the whole way on my first date." He grinned to show he was joking, and that he probably wouldn't be sleeping with Virgil tonight. "I haven't been doing too much, truthfully," he said. "Mostly been hanging around with Setsuna and Kira, or exploring. I can't say I've been on any of the rides."
