Dear Sirs:
I have heard some concerns recently regarding your efforts to create a police force for the place in which we find ourselves. As Disneyland's only resident attorney and politician, so far as I yet know, I am proposing to hold a Town Meeting and gauge the reactions of the populace in such an important matter as it does affect us all.
The notice for the meeting will go on the bulletin board soon, but I wished to notify the two of you in advance so that you might have sufficient time to ready your argument for such a force.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My offices are in the Opera House on Main Street near the entrance gate.
I am,
Most sincerely,
Your humble servant,
J. Adams

Date: 2007-09-10 01:41 am (UTC)"Hello," he said. "Good to see you again. This is Captain Carrot, I'm not sure if you've met." He realized, with embarrassment, that John probably didn't even remember ever meeting him.

Date: 2007-09-11 12:19 am (UTC)Trying to convey an apology with his eyes and a promise that he'd behave this time, John looked up at Carrot. "The good Captain and I have met, yes. Good morning, sir. Would you both like to step into my office?"

Date: 2007-09-13 07:31 pm (UTC)Carrot responded with a good-natured smile at John Adams to indicate that their previous encounter was all but forgotten. Although Carrot didn't like to be accused of immorality, he could certainly understand a misunderstanding.
"I'd be happy to do so, Mr. Adams," he replied.

Date: 2007-09-14 07:32 am (UTC)"Gentlemen, as I mentioned in my letter, some of the citizens of Disneyland have concerns about the police force you're setting up. I intend to have a town meeting to discuss the matter amongst all interested parties, but in the interests of equality, I am notifying you in advance so you have time to prepare your arguments and aren't blindsided when the time comes. As the unbiased moderator in the case, I have every wish that the process be transparent. I am fully at your disposal for questions, advice, or assistance."
It wasn't entirely true that he was unbiased in the matter, but it was foolish to have opinions before all the facts are known. John may have been loud and opinionated and obnoxious, but he knew how to be professional, too.

Date: 2007-09-21 08:10 pm (UTC)"We appreciate it, sir," Carrot said. "We certainly don't want anyone to be concerned about what we're doing. Our only intentions are for the good of everyone here, but obviously the idea of people setting up a police force without any regulation would be cause for concern. I'm very glad to hear we'll be having a town meeting about it."
