Lilly was beginning to think that this wasn’t heaven. Her first hint was the complete lack of pearly gates, angels, and, you know, God.
Her second hint was the fact that she was still wearing that hideous Cheer Squad outfit. She was pretty sure you got flowing white robes in heaven. Or at least pants.
As for her third hint?
Mickey coughs theatrically. "'What is your name?'"
Well, no reason not to answer. Most people knew who she was anyway. Hard to stay anonymous when your face has been on the 10 o’clock every night for three years. “Lilly Kane.” Normally, she’d give a wink and a giggle, but flirting with a giant, 2D Mickey Mouse was far beyond even her limits.
"What is your quest?" asks the Cat. It's perched, suddenly, on the roof of one of the gate-stiles.
She blinks a couple times. “Um.” She shrugged, “I…don’t know?” She winced at how lame that was, but being stuck in a magical Disney Land was…significantly weird. She was having a hard time thinking of clever things to say.
"'What is the average w..?'" Mickey frowns down at the notebook. "You know, I don't really see why that's important." He flips a page. "'If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?'"
“Well, that’s easy. Moving on would be right at the--”
"Or," the Cat says, examining its tail with interest, "if you were a genie and someone you were trying to give three wishes to was trying to trick you into giving him more, what would you say?"
“Uh, excuse me. I was trying to answer the question.” She glared at the cat, though it didn’t seem to care. “Oh well. Your question’s more fun anyway.” She paused to consider her answer. “Well, if I was a genie, I’d probably be pretty pissed off, having to live in a little lamp or bottle or whatever, right? So I’d give them their extra wish, but take away the other ones.”
Mickey looks rather nonplused at the next, but reads, "'When the revolution comes, what skills will you be able to barter for food?'"
She breaks out into a smirk at this, but doesn’t go the obvious route.
“Well, my dad is mega money. Assuming I still have any access to his bank codes, I can pretty much finance the entire revolution on my own.” Not entirely true, of course. Jake was rich, but not quite that rich. Still, better to make people think you’re more capable than you actually are.
The Cat rolls its eyes in a friendly (and rather disconcertingly out-of-sync) way, and asks, "Milk, dark, or white chocolate?"
“Milk, definitely.” She didn’t even need to think about that one. “Dark is a bit too sweet, and white chocolate is horrible.”
"'Choose the two coolest: robots, pirates, fairies, bears, ninjas, monkeys, vampires, or humans,'" says Mickey, giggling a bit as he goes through the list. "'Explain.'"
“Ninjas and Vampires. Definitely.” She frowned. “But only the hot vampires that like to seduce innocent young girls.” Another pause. “And ninjas because, well, they’re hotter than pirates, usually.”
"Great!" Mickey flips through the blank pages of the notebook at top, cartoon-y speed. "Well, I think that's just about it! Oh, and I'm supposed to ask, 'for your safety: are you carrying anything sharp?'"
“I’m really not.” She said, confused. “There’s not a lot of hiding space in this outfit, you know?”
((Lilly Kane from Veronica Mars, reporting for duty! Taking Lilly from the last episode of season two, right after her “murderer is brought to justice”, so she knows most of what’s gone on. Permission received from both Veronica and Logan. Also, I am taking Lilly with a clean slate, so although I played her at hogwarts_hocus as well, she can't remember any of that. I do love a good bout of meta, though, so feel free to mess with her mind a little bit. ;) ))

Date: 2007-08-10 04:45 pm (UTC)Susan had been away the last time Logan had dealt with Lilly, but she'd heard about what had happened and ... really hoped there would not be a repeat of that incident.
So she hurried to the entrance plaza as fast as she could, hoping to intercept or at least be there in case something exploded.
"Miss Kane? I'm Susan Sto Helit. I expect you'd like to know what's going on..."

Better make sure.
"This isn't heaven, right?"

Date: 2007-08-10 06:58 pm (UTC)He managed to make it to the entrance area, reminding himself that he'd known this was a possibility and actually he'd really hoped it would happen. Hadn't he? Arriving there, he tried to think of something clever to say while tugging absentmindedly at his sleeves. Something incisive and nonchalant.
"...Lilly. Hey." FAIL.

Date: 2007-08-12 12:14 am (UTC)When she arrived, she gave Lilly a curtsy, a smile, introduced herself, "Hello, Lilly. I am Chii," and then promptly asked, "What does finance mean? And why would you want to do it for the revolution?"
If there were other things going on, Chii didn't really pay them any attention.

Date: 2007-08-18 10:47 am (UTC)Lily thought it was an odd question, but just shrugged it off. She didn't think English was this girl's first language, anyway. "Finance is when you pay for something. As for why I'd want to," she gave a shrug and shot Chii a smile. "Well, I wouldn't want to, necessarily, but I had to answer with something."

Date: 2007-08-23 12:35 am (UTC)It wasn't that English wasn't her first language, it was that she had barely learned to speak at all, and in at least three different languages at once.
"...If Lily-san doesn't want to, why would Lily-san do it?" Chii asked, never mind if that was probably already an answered question. It honestly perplexed the easily confused girl. Why would anyone do something they didn't WANT to? It was beyond Chii who was free to do as she pleased.

"There's Adventureland for tough guys and gals, Tomorrowland for people of the future, Critter Country for critters and the people who love 'em, Toon Town (that's where I live), Fantasyland is a magical place, Main Street for normal folks, New Orleans Square which is a little spooky, and Frontierland for those folks who are on the edge and in between. If you could choose your home, where would you want to be?"

"Not that it matters, since you already have a place picked out for me, right?"
