Percy caught the surprise and was pleased with himself, but silently so. "Your worry for Marguerite is touching." It was sincere, or as sincere as he could be with the man. Margot seemed to like him and value Beaufort's friendship, and so he couldn't really be terrible to him. "I can only assure you that I am trying to be deserving. I cannot prove to you that I am a better husband, a better man for Marguerite. You only have my word."
