"I know it's not that big," Simon said, "but it gets the job done." He wanted to say more, considering it was his drill, and he didn't like people to look down on it. But Cayce had never seen him using it, and once she saw all the things that could be done with it, he knew she'd change her mind.
"I've been digging my whole life," he said instead. "I've always been the best digger in the village, but the drill is what makes me the best in the world. Aniki says it's the drill that will pierce the heavens...so I know if I try, I could get through some rocks!"
