Duck blushed and hid behind her bread. "It's got its moments," she mumbled. "But better a funny story than a really sad one, right? Though it's got its sad moments, too," she added with a more downhearted air. Poor lonely Rue. Poor Mytho, tortured by the Raven's blood. "But things'll get better. I'm sure."
The red-headed girl nodded and grinned. "That's the spirit! The answer can't hide forever, not even in a place as big as this!"
Duck gave Setsuna a questioning look and tried to say, "Huh?" around her mouthful of bread. "I'm-" she swallowed, "not that bad. Probably." She did not, however, take another bite until they'd sat down after the discovery of Cayce's letter.
"That's a really pretty picture," Duck said as she looked at it over Setsuna's shoulder. "The fairy, I mean, though your angel was really good too! Was the fairy wearing a tutu? It looked a bit like she was. A practice tutu, not a full one." She plopped down beside the boy and immediately took a large bite out of her bread, content to wait. She had to admit, this place had tasty bread.
