The strawberry-patterned glass fell to the floor with a loud crash. Nana reached to catch it before it fell, but she was too late, and the glass had shattered on the floor.

Nana stared at the broken cup on the floor, eyes wide. Hachi's words flashed through her mind. They're a pair, so please be careful!

Hachi was pregnant, and marrying Takumi, and now Nana had broken one of the strawberry glasses. What was she going to do?

There was a faraway roaring in Nana's head. Quietly, she stood, the other strawberry glass in hand. They're a pair. They're a pair.

If they were a pair, and one was broken...

She stood over the broken glass, the intact cup still in her hand. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, prepared to drop the intact glass with the other, but when she opened her eyes, she was no longer in room 707.

She blinked and tightened her grip on the glass, suddenly feeling fiercely protective of it. Odd, since just a second ago, she had been prepared to shatter it.

She looked around her, alarmed, sure she must be going insane, and spotted a mouse and a cat approaching her.
