James and Sirius, for today an accountant and a dentist, respectively, put the finishing touches on the Haunted Mansion (they had started the night before, and upon finding that in the morning their changes were still there, they had been quite pleased and finished up). Now that the room where the ceiling rose was magicked so that everyone would fit in it and still have plenty of space to move. On top of that, they had magically rewired the loudspeakers to the room, put up some spooky decorations, and even completed it with fake, scary looking ghosts (they had both been quite disappointed in the morning to discover that some of their ruder decorations, including hot, naked ghosts, were removed).

Then, James began to write the letters, and started some music.

Crowley,

We're throwing a party at the Haunted Mansion. Do you think you could provide refreshments? Feel free to come as well.

Then, identical letters were sent out to everyone in the park.

Hey,

There will be a Halloween party at the Haunted Mansion in New Orlean's Square. Come around and have a great time. Also, if you have drinks or food that you want to bring to share, feel free.

On the bottom of the paper, there's a witch flying on a broom, actually moving around on the paper.

A holiday for sweet things? Kurogane's eyebrows shot up but he was at least polite enough to hold his tongue. It sounded ridiculous, but like something the mage would enjoy immensely. What he did ask was, a bit skeptically, "So it's a holiday for candy and playing dress up?"

Definitely something the mage would enjoy immensely. Fay's eyes lit up and he clapped his hands gleefully. "There's an actual festival for things like that? That sounds so fun! Aw, I wish I'd known to dress up, I would have made doggy ears for my Kuro-wanko!" He tugged at Kurogane's hair, expression almost mournful, as he thought of how good Kurogane would have looked with dog ears and a collar.

"That's the gist of it, at least how muggles do it," Sirius said. "And it is fun," he added to Fay. "If you want, I could transfigure you a costume."

The blonde's eyes widened and he stopped bothering his ninja. "Really, Sirius-san? You would?"

"Sure, any requests? Or a surprise?"

"Something fun," was Fay's only answer. He giggled and clung to Kurogane's arm, practically jumping with excitement.

"Hmm, all right," he said. Sirius considered turning them into wizards or vampires or something traditional for muggle Halloween, but Fay's aversion to magic made him change his mind about the wizards, and the muggle vampires and ghosts and wolfmen he'd seen had all seemed rather prejudiced. It wasn't the muggles' faults, but he'd feel badly perpetuating those sorts of stereotypes, so he decided to go with more fun muggle costumes.

"There you are," Sirius said. "Fay, now you're a scientist, which is sort of like a potions master only for muggles. Kurogane, you're a muggle athlete."

"Wait a minute, dammit," Kurogane protested, looking from the mage on his arm to the wizard in front of them. "'Transfigure'? I'm not wearing a costume!"

Fay, on the other hand, squealed. "Wai~!" he trilled, swishing the coat and finding that so much fun he decided to keep doing it. "This is so cool, Sirius-san, thank you!"

"You're welcome," he said, pleased that Fay was pleased whether or not Kurogane was. "Well, I suppose I ought to go greet other people, so I'll leave you two alone, all right?"

His protest had, obviously, come a bit too late. At least this wasn't as bad as it could have been--he grumbled, but admitted begrudgingly that the outfit was okay, and Fay looked nice, like that--admitted it in his head, anyway. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered, looking away.

"Thank you, Sirius-san!" Fay chirped, leaving his coat alone for the moment in favour of clinging to Kurogane's arm again. "This party is so cool~! Aren't you glad I persuaded you to come, Kuro-rii?"
