Kurogane hesitated, just a moment, then wrapped his arms around Fay in return. Public displays of affection still left him at a bit of a loss, but he wasn't actually embarrassed by them anymore--unless of course he got teased about it, but the act itself didn't embarrass him anymore.
"I promise," he said seriously. "I promise both: I'll live. And we'll be all right."
