Sirius cocked his head at her, and peered at her with interest. "I've never really read about anything like that. We have legends, like about the Grimm, but I haven't heard of anything like a Soul Society." He gave her a small smile. "Not that I don't believe you. After all, most muggles wouldn't believe we existed, and anyway, I have a history of being surprised by friends. Traitors, werewolves, dead...that sort of thing."
His face fell somewhat. Halloween wasn't exactly a happy holiday for him, although it was nice now to be with James. It almost made him forget all of the other things he'd lost.
"I fell through a veil to come here," he said quietly. "It was supposed to be a veil of death. And I've met so many of my dead since I've arrived, I though for a while that this might be the afterlife," he admitted. "I suppose in some ways, I wanted it to be."
