It is almost as if his own brain is quizzing him –like back at home, control tests, only home isn't there anymore, the Doctor saw to that– and the feeling is irritating. But honestly, killing someone in your dreams seems rather pointless. He might get some amusement from this one yet since he seemed to think he had an idea of what was going on.
"Why would they punish killing?" he asks reasonably and it nearly seems like he's being serious for a change. "It's a perfectly natural aspect of nature. Oh, and you are aware that when you speak of a place as though it has a will of its own it makes you sound crazy." That comment is accompanied by an eye roll that is all too reminiscent of the Cat.
