Daniel chuckles and tells himself that he'll have to remember to tell John the story of Dr. Muller and the dig at Piramesses... Daniel hadn't hit, him, exactly, but he had a feeling John would be amused by the story anyway.
His face turns ever so slightly suspicious at Macavity's question, although John manages to keep the conversation light.
"I couldn't ever turn away from archeology," he confesses. "So the only answer would be to start stealing artifacts..." the expression on his face pretty accurately conveys how he feels about that idea "and, well, that would be really hypocritical..."
