Kurogane sighed, but didn't actually mind. At all. He stopped, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the ring, fingers curled and holding it in the palm of his hand so there was still no way to see it. For a moment, he just looked at the loose fist he had formed, as if he could see something startlingly meaningful in it.
Then he looked up, and walked forward, stepping up to Fay and reaching with his other hand to take the mage's. "Fay," he said quietly, and finally held up the ring so that the other could see it, offering, showing. It was thin and gold, delicate without looking fragile, with several tiny diamonds that made it catch the light. He held it there for a moment, then lifted Fay's hand, moving the ring as if about to slide it onto his finger, then pausing with it touching the tip of Fay's finger. He met his fiance's eyes. "Will you marry me?"
