THIRD ANNUAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY (Good lord...) Open RP!

Crowley awoke, not in his comfortable bed inside Club 33, but disoriented and hung over on a bench in front of the castle, an empty bottle of rum still clutched in one hand, mouth fuzzy, and head pounding.

"Ngk."

He brought up the other hand to guard his bleary, uncovered eyes from the glaring sun. It took him a moment to realize that there was a great deal more frilly sleeve around his wrist than there should be. Another second later, Crowley ever so cautiously moved his hand down to again discover a mustache and double braided beard.

"Why is the rum always gone?"

It wasn't what he meant to say.

"James?" Elizabeth had been in the middle of asking. "Why do you have a whi- oh! Jack, what are you- let go!" She slapped at him rather ineffectually with one hand.

"Will, put that sword away, we haven't got time for this.

Will didn't quite notice Jack's attempted escape with Elizabeth until she shrieked at him, but it would have to wait either way; the whip had caught his arm, and the sting reminded him of more pressing matters.

"I know you won't imprison Elizabeth. Promise me you will let her go, and then we can settle this like men."

Why did that sound wrong somehow?

Because, uh...? "In what respect, 'like men'?" Ray asked, stepping out to back up Miss Norrington.

Okay, Ray just had no idea what was going on here, with the snip-snip motions and pearls and whips and all; watching apparently-Sparrow he had a really strong desire to proclaim him the best pirate he'd ever seen. And he didn't know why. (Okay, again, cool hair and overall look, but it wasn't like the other pirates he'd known were much competition in that respect.) But he had to be on the side of law and order. That much he was clear on.

Elizabeth jerked her arm from Jack's grasp and folded them over her chest.

"Men," she huffed, then raised her voice in entreaty. "Gentlemen, please. There's no need for hostility." She pitched her tone to her most charming, turning soft eyes from one to another. That usually worked.

((So sorry, guys, though I'd tacked this!))

Franziska couldn't deny feeling even her heart touched when Elizabeth spoke; part of her would always love Elizabeth, but she kept up a stony face. That foolish girl had chosen piracy over someone as perfect as herself, so there should be no mercy.

"I have a better idea. All of you pirates will come quietly and agree to be hung. This is, of course, the only reasonable and non-foolish course of action."

She cracked a whip at Jack for trying to escape.

Will could take the point, as much as he wanted to face off with Norrington. He nodded once at Jack, checking to be certain Elizabeth was still in no danger.

Needless to say, Norrington using the whip without real provocation made him upset.

"We have no quarrel with you, Norrington." He started backing away slowly. "We only have to find Jack's ship and you need never hear from us again."

Ray caught the backing away slowly, and as it was the only thing that made sense he stepped over to try to flank the two pirates.

"Not so quickly, my good man."

"Good work, Dodgy," said Franziska proudly. "As a reward, I won't cut your pay. Now, Mr. William Turner, if you believe I am going to allow pirates to continue pirating, you are even more foolish than I would have believed of a fool such as your foolish self. Dodgy, please, capture them. And while it may offend your sensibilities, I am afraid we must capture Miss Elizabeth Bennett as well. She is hardly a lady in this company."

Franziska whirled around, ready to face whatever deadly pirate trio was heading her way. She cracked the whip in that direction for good measure.

Ray turned as well. For which he'd be kicking himself, although he'd been a little uneasy about the whole "hanging" thing.

Now that she realized that there were no reinforcements coming, she turned on Ray and whipped him angrily.

"You foolishly incompetent fool! Capture those pirates at once!"

Hey!

That freaking hurt! Ray backed quickly out of whipping range. "Your pardon, sir?"
