SECOND ANNUAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY! (Open RP)

Crowley awoke, not in his comfortable bed inside Club 33, but disoriented and hung over on a bench in front of the castle, an empty bottle of rum still clutched in one hand, mouth fuzzy, and head pounding.

"Ngk."

He brought up the other hand to guard his bleary, uncovered eyes from the glaring sun. It took him a moment to realize that there was a great deal more frilly sleeve around his wrist than there should be. After a perfectly still moment, Crowley ever so cautiously moved his hand down slightly to discover a mustache and double braided beard.

"Bugger."

It wasn't what he meant to say.

Oh, hell no. It was happening again. And Rukia had been so sure that it was just a one-time fluke! Did that mean all the park's bizarre events were one day going to repeat themselves?

Well, damn.

Sighing, she made the same sign for herself she had before -- I AM NOT TALKING UNTIL THIS NONSENSE GOES AWAY - and this time, got some string and hole punch to tie the sign around her neck.

Hopefully, it'd work better than last time.

Ash sailed up near Rukia in his rowboat, trying to look like paddling this much wasn't tiring him out.

"Avoy me proud beauty!" he shouted.

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-19 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Rukia turned slightly when she heard a familiar voice call out to her. "Ahoy, me bucko!" she called out to him before she could stop herself, and immediately gestured to her sign before she could say anything else that sounded insane.

[identity profile] palletkid.livejournal.com 2007-09-19 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Only a true landlubber would wear a sign like that," Ash announced. "Maybe we should be makin' ye walk the plank!"

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-20 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Rukia wasn't sure what 'walking the plank' entailed, exactly, but somehow, she knew it should make her uneasy. And it did. "Arr, ye not be wantin' ta do that, laddy," she couldn't resist warning him, and immediately mentally wanted to kick herself.

[identity profile] palletkid.livejournal.com 2007-09-20 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Ash shrugged. "This jollyboat don't be havin' a plank," he admitted. "An' ye seem like a fine piratey wench to me!"

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-21 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Curb yer tongue, matey," Rukia said, only a little stiffly, drawing herself up as high as her petite height would allow her. "I'm no wench! I'm a real" -- shinigami -- "pirate! Arr, I be as fine a buccaneer as any man!"

[identity profile] palletkid.livejournal.com 2007-09-21 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes ma'am!" Ash said, as some things transcend even forced pirate talk and an upbringing to be polite to women and your elders was one of them. His mother probably wouldn't have been happy to hear about her son going around calling people wenches, even if it wasn't his fault.

There was a pause, and then "Ye wouldn't be wantin' to join our crew, would ye?" he asked. "Only I be destined to become the greatest pirate to ere sail the seven seas, and all the great pirates need a motley crew. Pikachu's my First Mate, but I be not certain he's motley."

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Join his crew? Rukia was half-tempted to tell him no, thank you, it was very nice of him to ask, but it seemed like a pretty silly game and she didn't think it was best to get carried away with this whole pirate business.

Part of her was tempted to just accept. It did seem like fun.

In the end, the second part won out, though more because her mouth seemed to have a mind of its own than because of any conscious choice on Rukia's part: "Arrr, it just so happens I invented motley!" She didn't actually know what 'motley' meant. "Me lad, I'd be happy ter join your crew."

Somewhere along the way Pippi lost Crowley Jack when she stopped to grab a muffin from a cart (http://flickr.com/photos/strongestgirl/1323692680/)... He seemed like the kind of person who shouldn't be left alone for too long, so she started looking for him.

Until she saw the girl with a sign around her neck.

"... You're not talking until what nonsense goes away?" she asked through a mouth full of muffin.

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-21 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Rukia blinked when she saw a cute red-haired girl approach, and did her best to smile at the newcomer. "Arr, matey," she said. "I not be takin' a likin' to this sea-dog lingo, y'see." Then, something occured to her, and she squinted at Pippi.

"Ya mind if I be askin' yer name, lassie? And why ain't you talkin' like an old sea-farin' bucaneer, yarr?"

[identity profile] no1likeher.livejournal.com 2007-09-21 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"No I don't mind at all." Pippi said shaking her head. "Go right ahead!"

She looked thoughtful at Rukia's next question, biting her bottom lip.

"Wull... I guess I don't talk like an old sea-farin' bucaneer, yarr. Because I'm a young sea-farin' bucaneer, yarr!"

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Rukia was slightly bewildered when Pippi didn't just volunteer her name, but she supposed it made sense enough if you took her literally. Almost like something Orihime would do, really...

Rukia fought back a pang of homesickness and smiled, saying, "Er... righty, then. What's your name, arrr?"

As for being a young sea-farin' buccaneer, well, Rukia couldn't really find the right words to respond to that with.

[identity profile] no1likeher.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi decided to dispense with the dancing, and all the middle names.

"Pippi. Pippi Longstocking. That is who I am!" she said, with the last bit in a sing song voice. "...Though some people are calling me 'Elizabeth'... And they are so nice I just can't bring myself to argue with them... So you can call me either of those. And what is your name if I may ask?"

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Rukia's slightly chagrined when she realizes she hasn't told Pippi her name. How rude of her! "Arr, matey, I be Kuchiki Rukia, the most feared traveler ah the seven seas!"

[identity profile] no1likeher.livejournal.com 2007-09-27 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi doesn't think she's ever heard of a Kuchiki Rukia in any of the seven seas, but it's rude to challenge such statements and this gal seems nice.

"Nice to meetcha Kuchiki!" she said bobbing a curtsy.

As she did so, a small monkey in a pink sweater jumped up onto her head.

"Oh! I'm sorry Mr. Neilson! This is Mr. Neilson, he's a monkey you see."

[identity profile] kuchiki.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Rukia smiles and curtsies in return, when Pippi does the same to her. Although she's surprised and flattered by the girl's apparent formality (it never occurs to her that Pippi might not understand Japanese naming order), she still corrects her politely. "Arr, matey," she says, "you can be callin' me 'Rukia'. I don't mind."

Rukia's eyes lit up at the sight of the money. "Well, ain't that just a sight for sore eyes? Ahoy there, Mr. Neilson!"

[identity profile] no1likeher.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
In her many travels she might have, but she hasn't made the connection.

Besides, 'Kuchiki' is a very cute sounding word.

Mr. Neilson straitens up and does a smart little bow.

"Eep eep!"
