Daniel chuckles. "Whereas mine would keep going long after the writing was any good and they would keep having to invent new and bigger bad guys and ripping off Star Wars." He's getting silly now, but it's fun and more comfortable than thinking about reality. "And the actor playing me would probably try to quit a bunch of times because he was tired of playing the same geeky character for so many years."

It doesn't take a married man to catch the light in John's eyes when he speaks about the 'alien woman', and Daniel's smile softens. "What's her name?" he asks quietly.
