Simply the way George mentioned his twin in such an offhand manner made it apparant he did not want to talk about it, and Sirius certainly understood, but Merlin. He'd lost both a real brother and a brother in all but name in his time, and the pain of losing the latter had been exacerbated by the amount of responsibility he'd felt he'd had in the matter, but he still couldn't imagine how George must feel to lose a twin he'd been so close to. Sirius had really liked the twins-- they reminded him of the way things had been at Hogwarts before everything had gone to shit, when mischief and being cleverer than everyone else had seemed important. It sort of hurt to think that the two of them weren't spared the same sort of fates the Marauders had been.
"I'm sorry," he said simply, not specifying any further. "It's good about Percy, though. I always sort of hoped...that he'd come back."
Sirius had really been thinking more about his own brother, but that wasn't the sort of thought he ever planned to mention to anyone.
