Wandering the park

Tim had decided that he needed to take his mind off of the fact that not his Superboy was in the park. He also needed to make his lair into a habitable nest. He’d managed to hook his laptop up to an available power source, and had set his pictures around, as well as his spare clothing. Now he needed something that he could sit or lay down on, so that his mistake in the buckets didn’t occur again.

He hadn’t noticed any beds or pillows in his reconnaissance explorations so he’d just have to make one. He had found a sewing kit several times over, so he had the thread. He just needed fabric, and stuffing. He could find the correct fabric in t-shirts, and stuffed animals would have his stuffing. He wondered if princess dresses would be the best bet for creating a pad to lie in, for the half hour it took nightmares to awaken him again.

This meant he had to go out. Maybe he’d find a skateboard along the way, and have something to carry his loot back, or at least something that he could make into a workable skateboard. And he really needed to work at being Tim Drake for a while anyway.

((open thread, come bug Timmy. He’s just wandering around, squeezing stuffed animals, and collecting shirts.))

Wilbur looks a little uncomfortable, having never dealt with death. Nonexistence, yes, but not death. Just turning into giant swirls in the clouds and people being controlled by evil hats and whatnot. "Yes, well, that's not really our job, I don't think. Sorry."

"Well, I haven't been doing it for very long. Just finished my first mission, actually, but so far it's pretty interesting. I got to meet my dad when he was my age. Well, actually I was older, so I should have been able to boss him around, but that didn't really work..."

Wilbur's always ready to talk about the most exciting time of his life at the drop of a hat. Or even without a hat. It doesn't take much. "Well, my dad's an inventor, and someone stole a time machine and went back to mess up one of his inventions so that evil robotic hats would take over the world."

"Uh... To control it in general, I think. And they could take it over because when you wear the hat it can control you. It wasn't a very pretty future, to be honest."

"Oh, well, I haven't been here for that long. Mostly I've been holed up inside the Innoventions building--" here Wilbur gestures vaguely in the direction of the Innoventions building "--because there's a stage with a couch and stuff."

"Oh, it's a lot of weird inventions. I don't know, I mostly ignore them. When the park is actually a park they have a presentation on some kind of robot, and the set is a living room, which is pretty convenient. There's a computer, but all it really does is play solitaire." Not that Wilbur is very good at solitaire. It takes a bit more patience than he normally has.

He looks at the dresses with an amused expression. "Decorating?" he asks a moment later, with the strange image in his mind of princess dresses being used as curtains.
