If you happened to be awake in the middle of the night, there was a minute or two wherein you might have seen the decorations going up. Endless strings of lights unwound from nowhere, and went up on all the buildings. Candy-cane colored banners were hung; the pansies that made up the Mickey's face design on the hill in front of the gates were swapped with hundreds of miniature poinsettias. And on top of the gates, grinning nutcrackers and giant gingerbread boys plopped into being. Most impressive was the massive Christmas tree in front of the Main Street Train Station. Observant people would notice that it begins to "snow" every evening for an hour or so.

Welcome to the Merriest Place on Earth. Or...somewhere, anyway.

Endless strings of lights unwound from nowhere, and went up on all the buildings. Purple and candy-corn colored banners were hung; the pansies that made up the Mickey's face design on the hill in front of the gates were swapped with hundreds of miniature pumpkins. The new Mickey appeared to be wearing a domino mask. And on top of the gates, and peeping with jagged, lit up grins from windows, and heaped in an enormous pile in front of the Main Street railroad station, a thousand artificial pumpkins of various sizes and identical orangeness plopped into being.

Welcome to the Scariest Place on Earth. Or...somewhere, anyway.

Kyouya had been working lately; as difficult as it was to find more work to do, he had recently discovered some information saved to his computer that had allowed him to start some calculations he had previously been unable to do. Having an actual project had interested him, and he spent nearly a week buried in his work and plans, paying very little attention to anything else now that there was finally something that wasn't pointless to get done.

He was good at burying himself in work, which was why it hit so hard when he suddenly realized that he hadn't seen, heard from, or been bothered by Tamaki in days. Not necessarily completely uncommon, if Tamaki had gotten distracted, but not a happy discovery, either. He went to Tamaki's stupid house at Peter Pan's Flight, and...Tamaki wasn't there. Obviously there was still a chance that the idiot was just out bothering someone else, but after a few days and a thorough search of the park, there was still no sign on him.

Kyouya went back to the apartment and finished what he'd been working on, a process which took another day or two.

And then, he packed a bag with his wallet and phone, the clothing he'd brought with him, and Tamaki's things that he'd left behind, and left it in his room. However, he left his computer and computer case out, and with just that in hand, he walked to Mickey's house and knocked on the door.

Once again, in the middle of the night, decorations begin to unfurl throughout the park. In minutes the place was awash in red, white, and blue bunting, balloons, streamers, banners, flags, flowers, and all the Independence Day trappings.

Tamaki had never been to Mickey's house, and for that, he was quite ashamed of himself. But, he had promised Mickey that once he was done with Kyouya, he would go to his place and they could go on rides together.

It really wasn't that hard to find Mickey's House (especially as it was labled as 'Mickey's House'), and so he went and knocked on the door.

After Carrot got D the key to the handcuffs, and after getting separated from D, Leon waited a couple of days to go over his plan of attack.

Then, the conversation between he, Setsuna, and D fresh in his mind, he headed towards Mickey's place, where he knocked loudly and angrily on the mouse's door.

Halloween!

When it's fully dark that night, there are

FIREWORKS!

visible around the entire park for the third night in a row, with accompanying patriotic music. The loud and elaborate show lasts a full hour.

Carrot had spent years in the Ankh-Morpork Watch, and when there was a mystery to be solved, he knew that the first thing you ought to do, before looking for clues or jumping on dangerous monorails, should be to ask questions of the people who might know.

So he was ashamed that he'd been here so long and had yet to properly talk to the one man, or mouse, as the case may have been, who seemed to have an idea about what was going on. Carrot had learned ages ago, while exploring the park, that Mickey lived in the yellow house in Toon Town.

He woke early, as he usually did, strolled to Toon Town, and knocked on the door of the house.

((Backdated to the afternoon after Susan spent the night.))

A confounding correspondence )

The odd letters in hand, he went to New Orleans Square and knocked on the door of the Cat's Eye Cafe, hoping to share the good news with Fay.

((Well, it's technically the 14th... XD))

Mickey Mouse was excited. There were neat things planned for all the guests today and he was going to get to participate for a change. He was up at dawn changing into his tuxedo and checking the shine on his oversized shoes.

When he was convinced he was ready, he picked up the dozen cartoon roses next to his short, plastic bed and headed for the Main Street First Aid Station.

Knocking on the door, he called, "Ha ha! Uh, hiya, Susan! Will you be my valentine?"

As quickly and silently as the Christmas decorations had gone up, they folded themselves up and disappeared. It no longer snowed in the evenings and everything at Disneyland was back to normal.

...For a given value of normal, of course.

((Happy New Year everyone!))
