...a demon was trying, with the assistance of large quantities of alcohol, to ignore the sounds of park-wide destruction that might or might not mean the end of their sojourn in this place; and an angel was humoring said demon as best he could, despite his own none-too-cleverly-hidden hope that it would in fact mean that very thing. Not being particularly destructive by nature, and having little in the way of applicable skills he was willing to reveal to the park at large, Aziraphale had decided it would be best to stay out of the way unless called upon.

The atmosphere fostered by this dichotomy was not, to say the least, a terribly congenial one (especially since, as he understood it, two people rather near and dear to Crowley were directly involved in the effort.) Aziraphale dealt with it by burying his nose in a book, matching the demon teacup for brandy glass...right up until, moments after a series of particularly un-ignorable explosions and crashes were heard, Club 33's lights went out.

"Well, drat," he sighed, looking out through the 'rain'-spattered windows at the dimmed street. "I wonder if the entire place has lost power..."

Bernard was in serious need of alcohol. Mainly because he'd been lying around, doing nothing but drinking for the past few weeks, and eventually, that supply had to run out. There was a brief moment when he considered making his own, but he remembered the faffing and confusion in making it last time. Nah. He'd just sell his soul. He scribbled on the noticeboard:

Wanted! ALCOHOL.

I am willing to do anything (and yes, I do mean anything) for a bottle or two of drink.

Meanwhile, I am going to go and stoically ride a rollercoaster. Because I'm past the point of enjoying them. Find me being incredibly sober on Big Thunder Mountain. I reserve every right to bite your head off, unless you have alcohol.

((Closed to Cayce, Azi, Crowley, and Ellie. Backdated to a day or two after the Bentley Babes caper.))

Cayce wasn't jealous. That much was easy enough to define; she cared for Crowley a lot, but not That Way. And notwithstanding her admission at the community Truth or Dare game, she definitely wasn't queer for Ellie either, although she certainly liked her well enough. Actually, she thought the two of them pairing up was kind of cute.

But for reasons she was still hard pressed to identify, she was a little perturbed when the two of them up and vanished from the lake party, and clearly Aziraphale was too. They'd exchanged a few half-heartedly snarky (and subtly worried) comments at the time before finally sort of shrugging it off, and Cayce had said something about coming by the tea shop later.

So now she was suiting action to the word. She sort of hoped that Crowley wouldn't be around. It'd spare everyone a touch of awkwardness.

Guy had spent his morning carefully recalibrating his League Table, then realised there were only a couple of people on it, and this was not on. There was little in the way of medical emergencies here, apart from French guys who didn't know how to use swords, so he went for a mid afternoon wander, finding himself a bench and a good place to people watch. Or, to be more specific, women-watch.

It wasn't really a league table until he'd got at least three or four more women to add to it. Whilst he waited, he fiddled about playing on his Blackberry, seeing if there was a way he could get this to work in the park. No signal. That was the most depressing empty space he'd ever seen.

((As promised. League table. Only filled in with women he's met, of course. Feel free to mosey by and he'll add your character/leer/get slapped (delete as applicable). If I've got anything terribly wrong, please come and poke me and I can change numbers around.))

... So either Trucy had learnt how to improve her illusions, or something really weird was happening to Apollo. And, considering the usual events in Apollo's life, if he thought something was really weird, it was pretty darned odd.

((The return of Cayce and Quixote! Wide open RP. If you haven't already, catch up with the adventures of Quixote, Setsuna, Cayce, and Adam here.))

At some point after Pirate Day, an announcement came on over the park PA system.

"Hi everyone. This is Cayce Pollard. I'd like everyone to come to a meeting tonight to discuss a new discovery that's been made about the park. The meeting's in the Honey I Shrunk the Audience auditorium, at sundown. This is pretty important, so please be there if you can."

That evening ...

Don't forget to keep your head warm )

After the various discussions had settled out somewhat, Cayce finally cleared her throat.

"Okay, so here's the plan. Tomorrow at midday, anyone who wants to join the underground expedition should meet at the statue. It sounds like the time dilation or whatever it is makes time pass more slowly belowground than up here, so I think Adam and Setsuna will be fine. We should take the time to get ready with whatever we'll need to bring with us." Plus, of course, it was Adam. Of course they'd be fine. "Then, once we're at the door and ready to proceed, theā€”the Master will send a signal to the Doctor, who'll lead the distruption. Anyone has any other questions, find me. Thanks, everybody."

((And there will be a fresh post for the expedition when my life is a little more normal.))

Crowley awoke, not in his comfortable bed inside Club 33, but disoriented and hung over on a bench in front of the castle, an empty bottle of rum still clutched in one hand, mouth fuzzy, and head pounding.

"Ngk."

He brought up the other hand to guard his bleary, uncovered eyes from the glaring sun. It took him a moment to realize that there was a great deal more frilly sleeve around his wrist than there should be. Another second later, Crowley ever so cautiously moved his hand down to again discover a mustache and double braided beard.

"Why is the rum always gone?"

It wasn't what he meant to say.

A man shuffles in the gate, seeming unaware at first of his odd surroundings (or much of anything else.) It's difficult to say whether he's an old man, or if an unkind life has merely given him the appearance of one. Everything about him seems shabby and unkempt, from his untended beard to the well-worn trench coat he wears like a second skin. The dull expression in his blue eyes and the slump of his shoulders suggest that cleaning him up wouldn't really make a great deal of difference, at least to him.

The dried blood soaked into his collar and spattered down the front of his shirt doesn't help matters, either.

Mickey coughs theatrically. "'What is your name?'"

The man looks up for the first time, and stops dead at the sight of the cartoon-come-to-life. "'m John," he says automatically, frowning at Mickey as though trying to puzzle something out.

What the fuck are you supposed to be? )

((John Constantine from the Hellblazer comics, here--the original character inspired by Sting, not the cheap Keanu Reeves movie ripoff! He's arriving shortly after a failed attack by the Vampire King and is still somewhat broken due to losing his lady love, Kit. I also play the other Hellblazer character in the park, so I think I'm all set there. Feel free to come pester him, but be warned he's not in the most sociable of moods right now.))

Franziska, upon being sorted to Toon Town, went there to look around, but found it unacceptably foolish as anticipated. There would certainly be no question of her staying there, but she wasn't finding anything approaching suitable lodgings.

A bit frustrated but not ready to give up, she posted an announcement to the bulletin board.

Attention Residents of Disneyland,

I , Franziska von Karma, shall be requiring a place to stay during the short time I will remain here. I am aware certain of you who are too incompetent to leave within a timely fashion have prepared yourselves long term arrangements to bring comfort to your stay.

If you are a resident of the best lodgings in the park, kindly provide the location of said lodgings here, and then vacate the premises as soon as you are able so that I can move in. It would be best if this could be accomplished this evening prior to sundown so that I will be able to get situated.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Franziska von Karma.

A package was sent to Cayce containing a relatively modest and completely generic red bikini and a letter:

Cayce,

You ready to do this? Come over tomorrow around noon. We'll do the tour and have a lake party/barbecue afterward.

Ciao,
Crowley

Ellie got a letter, but no package.

Ellie,

Ready for the bikini tour? Come over tomorrow around noon. Cayce's suit is fairly modest, but I know better than to put restrictions on you. Barbecue at the lake afterward.

Ciao,
Crowley

((So very porny now. Be warned.))

One quiet afternoon found Aziraphale at the bulletin board, putting up a notice written in old-fashioned flowing script.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A non-denominational, interfaith prayer assembly will be held at the Golden Horsehoe in Frontierland, three nights hence at sunset. All are welcome, regardless of faith or lack thereof, who come with respect and peaceable intentions.

If interested, please make a note of it here or via post to Mr. Fell at Club 33. Questions or comments are welcome.

((Btw, if your character didn't audition but is still listed as participating somehow, don't worry about it. T-Rex realized he didn't have enough volunteers to fill out everything he wanted to fill, so he just started listing random people he knew or knew of. He'll be by no means forcing anyone to participate, so if you want, feel free to ignore him and he'll work around it. Of course, anyone who's happy with their roles and would like to participate, feel free! Also, if you're not listed and would like to participate, he'll find some way to squeeze you in, believe me.))

A couple of days after the Truth or Dare game, someone snuck into the radio booth and put on a special song just for Katou...
[identity profile] anthony-crowley.livejournal.com
Cayce,

I need to talk to you. Can I come by your place this afternoon?

-Crowley
[identity profile] katoustheshit.livejournal.com
Katou had four options. a) He could wait until both Mr. Fell and Crowley had left Club 33, break in, and steal some liquor. b) He could wait until Crowley left, and try to convince Mr. Fell he was someone else and get some liquor. c) He could do be, but with Crowley. d) He could do be but with both of them.

It wasn't hard to decide on b. He knew Crowley and Mr. Fell weren't human, so he wasn't sure what kind of protection they might have on their house, and he had already failed at convincing Crowley once.

He hung around Club 33, some distance away, for what felt like forever, until he could feel Crowley leave. He waited a little while longer, and then, he turned himself into Cayce, carefully covering his arm, and went and rang the doorbell.
